What Is A 2005 Vfr Worth?

I am interested in selling my 2005 VFR. I was wondering what it is worth? I live in FL, the bike has 17,000 miles all stock except for K&N airfilter, never layed down, has full set of Honda Factory Hard Bags sides and topper. Bike is silver color, tires have 1,000 miles on them. Oil has beeen changed every 3,000 with mobil 1 synthetic. Any idea of what I should ask for it.

I realize you don't want to hear this, but even though the bike is in pristine condition and has relatively low miles, you aren't likely to get more than whatever the KBB or NADA books say it's worth. When it comes to selling motorcycles, it's almost always a buyer's market. In tough economic times like these, even more so. Best of luck to you.

Yeah with the economy I understand, that is why I was asking on here for an honest answer. I was hoping to get 4,500.00

Sell your luggage and racks separately - you'll still get $4500 for the bike without them.

Side bags, side racks, a top box and top rack - for $500? Nope - unless you stole them from the seller.

Posting a "whats it worth?" thread is highly subjective and as such take ALL responses - mine included - with some flexibility. :dry:

I would pay $4500 for the bike without the bags but I'm not in the market for another VFR. Good luck though.

Current Blackbook is $6470, but the market is crap! :dry: Your area might be better or worse. $4500 should be an easy sell w/o hard bags. :cool:

How much would the 3 piece set of Factory Hardbags be worth if I sold them separately?

We can throw numbers around all day long but in the end it's what you and the buyer agree upon.

I have not seen any hardbags for sale that are factory Honda so it is hard to put a price on them since I bought them with bike

I have a person interested in only the bike and I do not want to get stuck with thid luggage in other words is it worth while to sell seperate

The luggage should easily sell for $500 here. :cool:

I would say start at $600-$700 for the whole kit including mounts, top box and saddlebags. I paid over $1300 for my whole kit brand new and that was getting the lowest prices possible for them.

Just sell it all together. Your VFR would be more appealing than other VFRs without bags. Always try to have the most appealing listing versus other VFRs for sale.

It's a pain to sell different parts mind you bags would probably be relatively easy to sell.

I say $4999 all in.

A new 2007 dark red @ my local dealership is selling for $6,499 plus $199 doc fee a buyers market I'd say. :blush:

According to the Motorcycle Consumer News Used Bike Value Guide, July '09 edition the retail value of the non-ABS is $6515, ABS $7145 with this disclaimer:

"The prices given here are for the full
retail value of a stock motorcycle in a reconditioned or
clean, undamaged and well-maintained condition with average
mileage ready to be sold by a dealer or between individuals. The
value assigned is a national average."

Of course, the current market and individual mcy condition determines the real price a buyer is willing to pay. In my area, dealers are advertising '07 new hold over non ABS models for $6991. This is essentially identical to the '09 with a MSRP of $10,799. Quite a discount, eh?

Nonetheless, why would I pay $6515 for a cream puff '05 with whatever mileage, when I can have a brand new '07 for another $476? This is kind of illustrative of where values have slid in this market.
