After I turned 40 years old a few months ago, my VFR just turned 40k on its odometer on Saturday morning! :)
I bought the bike in mint, bone stock condition from the original owner in August, '06, with 4225 miles on it. Since then:
-I've put nearly 36k on the bike
-I've dropped it twice
-It's been ridden in a total of 10 US states and an overnighter in Ontario
-I've gone thru a small heap of tires - OEM Bridgestones, Conti Road & Sport Attacks, Dunlop Qualifier, Diablos, Metzler Z6
-Modded it to my liking - Sargent, Pazzos, R&G frame sliders, OEM bags, PCIII and O2 eliminators (and suspension mods are next)
I've said it many times...This is the best bike for me, period. Versatile, comfortable, fun to ride, fast enough, sharp looks, decent fuel economy, cheap to insure, decent weather protection, good mods available, was affordable to purchase, extensive dealer network (just in case) - and it's in my favorite color. :laugh:
Some props to give:
-Joe C, who sold me the bike at a price fair to both of us
-State 8 Motorcycles near Akron, who has done a nice job servicing the bike in the past
-VFRD member Flip, who helped me with an electrical gremlin late last summer
-All the great folks I've met and ridden with over the last few years
-VFRDiscussion.com, 'nuff said
BTW, I hit the 30k mark early this season and was really hoping to get enough miles in this year to see 40k pass - and this year ain't over yet. I'm averaging 11k per year, so I'm looking foward to seeing 50k on the clock next year! ;)

My VFR turned 33 this year, just like me! I sure hope it beats me to 40!

Congrats Tim, odd coincidence that I bought my '04 from a guy in northern Kentucky with 4226 miles. I just turned 22k on mine. Maybe a few more 537 mile days with you and it'll age quicker. (still uncertain about Wednesday by the way)

isnt it funny that when you own a VFR you anticipate big odo numbers, but anything else, you dread piling on the miles?. Says alot about the mighty v4.
I so much enjoyed putting the equal ammount of miles of the first owner of my bike in 8 years on in 1 year. A special satisfaction of putting more miles on it that its first owner.
