Well, we've now seen the 600 lb shaft-drive porker that Honda has blasphemed with the "VFR" moniker, and many of us would argue that the VFR died in 2009. I was hoping for a 40 lb weight reduction, perhaps a return to gear-driven cams (or at least a true variable-valve timing and lift configuration), and some work on the fuel-injection mapping to make it less "notchy" at lower RPM's. If I wanted an ST1300, or a K1200, I would've bought one... My '03 is the third VFR I've owned, and it looks like it needs to last a loooong time...

Same steady progression Honda has run with for the last decade or so with the VFR. :rolleyes:
I have little doubt I can jump on th enew 1200 pig and smoke 90% of the SS in the twisties just like i can do on the 6th gen. :ph34r:
Sure we would all love a VFR1200RR version, but I doubt that's gonna happen. Can you say RVS4! ;p
ps the 1200 is suppose to have one of the smoothest fueling ever. ;)
I have the January 2010 Sport Rider right here. What he's talking about, is that this issue has a "Sportbike Buyer's Guide 2010". Every available canyon carver gets 1/6 of a page, with a picture and a brief outline of its stats. On the last page is a box with a list of 2009 models that are discontinued for 2010. The VFR800 Interceptor is on that list. The VFR1200 has its own box, earlier in the article, as one of the available 2010 models.

One of the machines at the post awful got very hungry while delivering my copy of Sport Rider. It arrived in a plastic bag with a notice apologizing for chewing it up. Maybe yours was not salvageable.
