Hi all,

Strange one here. After leaving the bike on its stand for a month (holiday) I took it out yesterday and she sounded really rough and difficult to start.
The sound is more the one of a lawnmower than a VFR. I suspected an airleak of some sort.
I noticed this morning that air is coming out from a small hole below the front exhaust clamp.

The right hole is leaking air the left hole isn't

What is this hole for? What's wrong with my bike?

If it's relevant at all the fuel is 1 month old, the sparks have been changed 1K miles ago, the bike has 17,000 miles no valve check.
Thanks a lot for your help.

I believe that is the spark plug weep hole, allows for water to drain from the spark plug canal. I wouldnt worry about it. Now if oil or coolant was coming out thats a different story. You might want to check that spark plug to see if its come out loose though, and make sure the plug wire cap is seated.

It looks like something is coming out of that hole. Not a lot of it but enough to leave the dark patch on the picture.
A loose plug would explain it. I'll try that tonight. Thanks Miguel!

Check the airbox for critters. 1 month sitting up in a garage is plenty of time for a mouse to build a nest on top of your air filter.
