So after a couple months of patient accumulation I think I have all the parts I need for the rebuild this Spring. Now for the big decision ... what color to paint ??? Do i stick with the 03 stock silver which was growing on me or do i bite the bullet, pull the tank and drain it and go for what I really wanted in the first place and do the whole thing asphalt black ?
In the end its a couple hours work to pull the tank and maybe $150 more to paint the body plus the tank than the body alone.
Suggestions ?
Oh, and what are the 03 silver (not the later sword silver) and asphalt black paint codes please ?

I'm more of an orange or blue type of guy, but this ain't my bike, it's yours. Go with your favorite color, life is short and $150 is really not that much. But you mus post pics after with the bike and you with a huge grin on your face. :beer:

Of course, how else would you differentiate among NH-A12M Interstellar black metallic, NH-418P Pearl prism black, and NH-436M Matt gunpowder black metallic? :huh:

Can somebody tell me if the so-called "flat black" is the NH-436 Asphalt? Just curious.

NH-436 is, indeed, Asphalt, and it's about as flat as it gets.
One question .. all the colors except for Asphalt would have a clear coat on them to protect against scratches etc ... how do you do similiar for a matte finish ? Do you apply a matte clear ? Or do you simply loose the ability to wax and polish and buff out sctratches ?

Nope, all you gotta do is take a panel to a PPG shop, they can scan the part with a machine and the machine spits out the correct formula for them to mix. Done it a few times with great results - for a LOT less than ColorRite!! :fing02:
