Best Hugger for 6th Gen?

I have used the search function and not found a lot of information on huggers. I saw the GCC option - but they are AUS$450! Does anyone know of any other options in either ABS, or a less expensive carbon version?

I prefer the NWS type that bolts onto your existing chain guard. Very good quality and fit.

And I totally prefer the ones that get rid of the stock crappy PLASTIC chainguard altogether.

Harris Performance in the UK makes a beautiful 1-piece hugger/chainguard and if Carbon Fibre is too expensive for you ($189.147 USD), you can also get it in woven fibreglass (black) for cheaper ($138.717 USD).

Veefer - that looks really good. I will see if anyone distributes in the US, otherwsie I will order direct. You feel like yours is obviously good quality?

Yes, I love my Harris Hugger. So sorry it got wrecked in the accident. I'll be buying another.


You have to pay careful attention to the mounting instructions, as it uses the swingarm mount for the suspension triangle as one of the hugger attachement points. (see lower metal bracket on 2nd pic)

They provide a small spacer washer to move the shoulder bolt out from the triangle a couple of millimeters and leave room for the thin stainess steel hugger bracket to flex slightly between the shoulder bolt and the triangle without binding.

At first, I was concerned about this, but as long as your triangle bolt is torqued to spec, it's fine. Mine was perfect for about 8 years and over 50,000km, never worked loose or caused any other concerns.

But you must use the spacer washer or else the bracket will bind as the suspension moves up and down.

I also believe that user Rivcyko makes one. He made my B.B. for me and it is amazing. excellent quality of workmanship and fits like a glove. If he does make one it will no doubt be excellent. Might ask myself ready for bike spring project. Otherwise Harris is a very good piece of kit had it myself until bike vandalised and it was cracked off by some Sh&#@%!d.
