OK, here's what I have going on. The Interceptor has been sitting idle for about three weeks (been riding my "new" 77 CB550 instead). Was working in the garage yesterday so I put the bikes out in the driveway. It was about 25 degrees out. I put them back in the garage last night. When I came out this morning there was a small puddle under the vfr. I pulled right side panel and noticed fluid around the crankcase cover. It appears as though the leak started at the top of the cover. It does not look or smell like oil so I am thinking clutch fluid??? I am not convinced that it is coming out from around the crankcase either. There is a hole in the aluminum just above the primary drive gear (Above the crankcase). It looks like some fluid may be coming through that hole and onto the crankcase and then working its way around and dripping off the bottom.
Has anyone seen this before or had this happen? Is it an easy fix? Where do I go from here???
Thanks Bailyrock. It is definetly antifreeze that is leaking. I pulled the left side cover and my reservoir was pretty low. Not dry but under the lower level mark. I have looked around from what I can see and dont see a leak anywhere near the right or left side. I pulled the reservoir tank to get a better look but can't find anything unusual. The hoses and clamps all look good from what I can see. I have periodically had to top off my reservoir tank so I know I have something going on.
So what now? Any thoughts??? Why would it leak if the coolant were low??
It is loose clamps on coolant hose
every 6th gen comes from factory with LOOSE CLAMPS and they pee on yer garage floor.
tighten each and every one of them
fill tank back up

I tightened all that I could see (or get to). There are several that look like you would have to drop the engine to get to though. What a pain in the A$$. I think I may have located the source which is a hose that that sits in the "V". There is no way of getting to it without a major disassembly. I am somewhat capable mechanically, but that would push my mechanical limits.
This is why I love the old Hondas. Like me, they are not too complicated or technologically advanced.

Gerrr. You can get to those clamps, but you need nimble fingers, swivels, and extensions. All in 1/4". Good lighting and a magnet, on an extention, will help to smooth the mess, too.
Well, last weekend I tightened every hose clamp I could get to like I said. It leaked just a little bit. We have had warmer weather (40-55F) this last week and I rode the bike 3 days, and no leak whatsoever. So the question is, Does it only leak when below freezing and bike sitting? Will just riding it a little bit keep it from leaking? Or is just because of the ambient temperature? I keep it garaged always (even covered). Even on the coldest of nights the garage doesn't get below 50F. WTF, over?

Have you ruled out the water pump, it has a weep hole? or atleast should

Cold weather should not really cause any issues unless you don't have enough antifreeze.
Personally, when I gotta leak being cold makes it worse, but I'm not a motorcycle, so what do I know....
Anyway, did you check to make sure your antifreeze won't freeze? Though it sounds like you've run the bike sense then? If you tried to run your bike and your coolant had frozen you'd know it.
