How many KM's have you logged?

Hey all,

I'm in the market for a used VFR. I'm wondering how many KM's you've managed to clock before the bike needed major repairs / was toast.

hmmm....not sure what a KM is but i know KTM, those are cool bikes and much faster than a Honda.

Kilometers I believe.

I have 41,700 miles on my '02 model. Thats somewhere in the 67,500 kilometer range.
Mechanically, mine is still fine. Had a few quibbles with the electrical system and I'm fighting the cooling system at the moment.

There's plenty of other owners on the forum with many more miles on their VFR's then I have on mine.

Assuming the ones your'e looking at haven't been thrashed, you should be good well into the 200,000 kilometer range with proper maintenance.

in miles, I got to 100,000 indicated (the little plastic thingy that attached to my sppedo wire was MIA for about 6 months (too broke to buy it in 93! ). I got to 100,000 miles (turnover the dial to all 00000), and lost a main bearing that day. It has a 91 motor now and is being rebuilt. I get to ride a 98 while that action happens!:fing02:

I just voted in the poll, but don't want to skew the results- my '98 has 39,000 miles SO FAR- as others have said, there are many others with many, many more miles and I'm confident mine will too (sooner than later!) Man, I lOVE my VFR!

Just did the 64,500 mile valve check on it and still well within spec. Gonna button it up and sync up the starter circuit, lube and adjust all the cables and moving parts. Bikes been mildly flogged at the track a few times as well as the usuall back road blast and commuting duties. Great engine. Mines the 98 vfr.

Mine is cruising past 50k miles and running smooth. Had a valve check done at 32k and was normal. Had all the factory recalls done by Honda. Bike is awesome, by far one of my favourites to ride. hence why i have an 02 and still ride it everyday whilst others have come and gone.

My '04 shows 40,970 miles now, which is just shy of 66k km. :)

Well I remember when a VFRD member reported a catastrophic engine failure there was a lot of shock, even some disbelief that one of these engines would ever fail before other systems on the bike would. I wouldn't worry about a higher mileage engine, it's the other systems that wear out over time, with more use, you increase the likelihood that something will fail, although some major fixes may have been done already. And keep in mind the VFR's achilles heel has always been electrical.

I've got 54,000km on my 07 and know a guy with 200,000+km on his 98..

Look after things the right way they will run almost for ever. My 05 Dodge Neon has 260,00km+ on it and my dealer can't beleive it, since most blow up around 150ish.

Change the fluids when you should and keep them clean.
