It sure is a busy off season !

So as most of you know I went down low side at the end of last season and my bike sustained substantial cosmetic damage. Since then I have been busy getting ready for a rebirth !

Used parts acquired for repairs ...

LH side fairing
RH side fairing
nose cone
Tail fairing
brake lever

Other parts acquired for rebuild ...
Stebel Nautilus 138db horn
Red LED strip for custom rear brake light under license plate
Autoillumination 1157 high intensity LEDs (for Darth Bling mirrors and front turn signals)
Givi highway/touring windscreen
Red wheel rim tape
carbon fiber triple cover
carbon fiber tank pad

Still watching and thinking about ...
New boots
New helmet
Honda hard cases
Garmin Zumo 550 nav
Corbin seat
carbon fender extender
carbon rear hugger

The plan is to remove the final body parts tomorrow (the tank, the front fender) and get it all into paint this coming week. However I am now hesitating on pain color ... I always wanted Asphalt Black but all of a sudden I am hesitating and thinking some cool dark burgundy/red color could look cool too ... dammit ! :unsure:

Needless to say when she is all done it will be like a brand new bike ! Thanks to Ebay I was able to replace the body parts with OEM parts that have little or no damage for a real good price.

The only lingering issues are that during the teardown I found 2 additional damaged parts due to the fall ;

• the front wheel has a very small bend on one side of the lip
• the forks are askew, not 100% sure that they are bent as I wasnt going very fast when I went down so they might be twisted in the triple so I hope to loosen things up and see if they sort themselves out (please, please, please:blink: ) *fingers crossed*

I am hoping the forks are alright as that will jump the repair bills and force me to skip some of the toys I wanted to add this season !

And the best news of all ... my buddies and I are planning a 10 day road trip for the summer so she will get a good run ! :beer: Out of Vancouver Canada, down the 101 Coast Highway all the way to San Fran. Then rest a day in San Fran and tour about. Then mount back up and wander home through the mountains of eastern Cali along the Nevada border. Sooooooooo stoked about the trip indeed !

Wish me luck getting her up and running over the next month or two !

BAH ... not good news I am afraid ! :pissed:

Turns out the front fender is cracked too so that will delay everything while I source a reasonably priced replacement.

Additionally upon closer examination the forks do appear to have shifted in the lower steering stem. The left shifted about 1/4" and the right about 1/2". I loosened the bolts on the steering stem and the triple and then banged with a hammer to shift the forks back to where they appear to have been previously. Sadly after all this the wheel still doesnt sit straight when the steering is so it looks as if the forks are indeed tweaked !

The plan is now to replace and paint the plastics/cosmetics, reassemble the bike then ride it out to the local trusted Honda dealer to have a look at the forks so I can get a professional opinion.

All that and the balast on my cars HIDs is toast too ... no love today !

Ouch! Like you said, no love today. Just keep on going, tomorrow will be better. As far as your front fender is concerned, can you fix it and repaint it? If it's only cracked, this does not sound too bad to me.

Gonna have to get it back together before I can ride it to a shop to have them have a look to get a professional opinion so we`ll see.
