Auto Rims on my 2006 VFR

I recently have developed an interest in placing a auto rim on my VFR. I saw one with a Bling Bling gold rim and like the possibilities of doing such. Maybe in a nice Black.
Any leads on doing such? I have just started researching researching the possibilities.

It's only going to work on a VFR, if you can find a 5.5" x 17" wheel with the right offset. I wanted to do it too, but couldn't find a 5.5 x 17, let alone the right offset.

It has been discussed here a few times but I dont recall anyone ever doing it..

a 2004 WRX STI has the correct bolt pattern. You just need to figure out the offset.

I found this one, but it will set you back $500, has to come from Japan
45mm offset means you need a 20mm spacer.

Thanks Dallasb, do you have any links to those wheels you can post? Those look like they're all 5-lug, which won't work - need to be 4-lug. Would also like to see the weight specs.

I think the reason you see these auto rims on modern inlines and not VFR's is the inlines are wider. The arm needs to go left a ton to get the tire "close" to center. The VFR frame doesn't allow you the room to go that far left. Regardless of offset, the tire will hit the arm before you get even close to centerline. Plus they use 6-7 inch rims which are easy to find. You MIGHT find a 5.5 rim. You Might find it with the correct bolt pattern but it Might be a 15 inch rim.

The wheels dallas posted above are available in 5.5x17, with an offset that's close. Those might actually work out great, because adding offset yourself with a spacer (to make it match the VFR offset) will generate more clearance for the VFR800's huge rear caliper.

If you want some bling wheels on your VFR, why not just get the factor wheels anodized bright gold?

2004 STi has a 5x100 bolt pattern.

Because they're cast, and the anodize will come out dull and ugly on the non-machined surfaces...

More of an aesthetic option for me, and the potential for a cheaper lightweight wheel - not so much the bling. :fing02:
