I E-Mailed Power Commander last night and asked about the PCV:

AWESOME! The only problem is they are not providing maps for the '02-'08 models for the PCV and therefore a custom map is needed. PCIII maps are not directly transferrable.
Looks like I'm actually going to do it - I'm not buying the VFR1200 but instead I will be putting cash into my '02 to refresh her. I'm actually quite excited!
So folks, is the Autotune a worthy addition?
If you buy the autotune option there's no need for a custom map, just need a base map loaded and the autotune should build from there.
We have an semi PCV expert here who installed one on his 06 and has been messing with mapping, forget his member name though. :rolleyes:

Stuff it, I just went and ordered the Autotune anyway.
Heck, I'm saving $27,000 by not buying the new VFR - I've got some room to play with my cash! I'm going to buy a track bike and some full leathers as well.

I'm totally stoked. Now all I need to do is repair the dent in my tank I've left there since 2008 because "I was going to buy the new VFR". Sigh!

...aaaand I have a spare tank. $250, same amount of damage. All I need to do now is get it resprayed, along with my panniers (both scratched from separate driveway drops).
