VFR Discussion Group -> Is the vfr your 1st bike?

I was wondering  how many started with the VFR or the VFR is just one in many! :laugh:

#7 for me....bike ho :shake:

# 5 for me.  I plan on keeping this one even if I buy a different type of bike in the future... ie. Sport or Cruiser.  This one seems like a keeper  :wheel:

11 year hiatus from motorcycles
'85 VF500F (bought in '99, put 10K miles on it)
'93 VFR750F (bought in '00, put 30K miles on it)

As a kid I had three different minibikes (do they count?)
One had a 3 horse rope start Briggs with a paddle friction rear brake only, it almost seemed homemade.
Next was a trail 50 that I pushed more than I rode.
Then I got a trail 90 and I rode the wheels off that thing for three years, couldn't kill it. �(20 year time lapse)
Had a 1980 H-D Sporster, rode/worked on it for 2 years.
Then I got a 1971 Triumph 650 Tiger Rigid Chopper Rode/worked/pushed that thing for a year. (5 year time lapse)
Then I bought a 1991 CBR 600,I had it for a year then it got stolen and smashed. But I finally figured out what I liked.
Then came the 1995 VFR 750, what a fantastic bike!!
Had it for 2 years 'till 17 year old kid driving his daddy's SUV
Pulled a lefty in front of me And totaled it
Now the 2003 VFR!

'02 VFR - Gets all my attention
'92 WR200R - No reason to replace this one, great woods bike.
'72 Kawi KE100 - pit bike/teaching girlfriend to ride on this one.

My dad bought me a spankin new '92 EX500 when I was a junior in high school. I sold it to help with college.

A Few years after getting my first "real" job I was promoted and got the keys to a company car. This gave some room for a motorcycle. I stared at lititure for about 6 months and bought my 2000 vfr. I have no regrets on my choice  :wheel: .

My first bike is the '03 VFR which I bought in July of '03.  Wish I had gotten involved in motorcycling sooner!

The '99 I have now is my second VFR and my fourth V-4.

still would like to have another F3 for a track bike

my first bike was a 1983 yamaha mx 100 enduro.  
My 2002 vfr is my first street bike, and it is, to quote Ferris Bueller "so choice, if you have the means, I highly recommend you pick one up" :cool:

My first bike was an 86 VF500F Interceptor (wish I would have kept it), then I moved up to an 89 GSXR750 :squid: .  I didn't ride for 10 years, untill I could not resist the red 02 VFR at the local honda dealer.  I think this ones a keeper, although someday I would like to pick up a used 600 for track days, I am afraid to take my baby on the track.

1:  1970-ish Schwinn 3-speed w/banana seat & sissy bar.
2:  1980-ish Schwinn 10-speed w/book rack & head light.
3:  1999 VFR 800.

There was a very large gap between selling my Bultaco and purchasing the VFR (about 30 years) but man it feels good to be back. The bikes are so much better  and far more interesting today.
