Can anyone tell me what the red mark above "AM" on my gauge cluster means? I don't have an owner's manual to look it up in, but I'm wondering why the red mark is there. It is only there when the bike is turned off and goes away when I turn the bike on. Can someone tell me what it means?

I believe it's part of the "bar gauge"... it's the last "bar" if anything.... indicating you are close to empty... there would be a black digital bar on top of it, and it would blink on and off revealing that mark and then digital bar back and forth... try it when your tank is getting close to empty.. no biggy.

Ya when it starts to flash you have about a gallon or so of fuel left.

Thanks for the quick replies. The fuel tank is just about full. When I turn the bike on the fuel bars light up black just like they should. This red bar is the last bar from the fuel bars and it does turn black when the bike is turned on. I was just worried why it would be turned on showing red when the bike is off and the key is out of the ignition. On my Ducati there is a blinking red light for the security system, but the VFR doesn't have a security system as far as I know. I was worried that it might be an indication of something wrong or a maintenance minder, etc.

I downloaded an owners manual and it says when there is a cooling fan issue the temp gauge will blink and a red bar will show up on the dash. This bar is a fuel bar though, but the bar that shows up for cooling fan issues.

Does anyone else have this bar show up red when your bike is turned off? I'm thinking it's no big deal, but I just want to be 100% sure I don't have anything that needs attention.

This bar as always on. Mother Honda painted it red on the lense (or something) so it never goes away. It looks like it goes away when you turn on the bike, but it really doesn't. Just like stated above. Nothing to worry about!

Just ride and enjoy the bike.

Thanks everyone. I was a bit anxious for no reason. Thanks for the advice!
