Sheared Rubber Housing on Throttle Cable - Any Adverse Impact?

Just noticed that one of the throttle cable (comes in a pair) had the rubber housing sheared, exposing the metallic lining within the outer rubber shell.

This must have been caused by the constant abrasion of the throttle cables again the fairing/headlight stay.

Is there any adverse impact of keeping the throttle cable as it is, with the metallic sleeve exposed?

Are throttle cable replacement a lot of work? Does the fairing and tank needs to go off first?

Well, you'll want to seal that up to keep moisture out. If you don't, then your cable can start rusting which will cause problems down the road. Cable replacement isn't too hard or too expensive, but it can take some time if you're not mechanically inclined. Just take your time and you'll be fine.

I wouldn't say it's difficult, but if you consider taking the fairings and tank off hard work, then yes, throttle cable replacement will be difficult.

I suppose it's all relative.
