Just added a PC III

So I just installed a PC III I picked up off a fellow forum member. It had a zero map on it when I recieved it and I quickly and easily loaded Cozye's map for 02-05 VFR (USB). Then I proceded to put on the 330 ohm resistors to stop the O2 sensors. Took me a couple hours to get everything done (mostly due to the pain of taking body work off) and then go for a test ride. FANTASTIC! All the choppiness was gone, the harsh VTEC engagment gone.....just smooth as butter. Got no "FI" light so all looks good to go. Rode yesterday and today and it just feels like a more refined bike. Love it!

Thanks for the great map! I'm sure it could be tweeked here and there, but so far so good!

What about gas mileage ?

I just filled up yesterday so its gonna be a bit until I get through a tank or two to be able to tell. I go outta town Wednesday until Sunday so I won't have much time to ride this week. I'm not really too concerned about mileage unless its a big drop off. Rideablility and smoothness trump mileage.

10-4 I have been waiting for someone with a honest review about gas mileage.

Depending on how I ride I was getting 165-180 miles on a tank mostly. I wouldn't expect it to change much.

You've got me super stoked as I have the PCV on the way. Ever since I installed a gutted stock exhaust the bike has been running considerably lean... I am sure the PCV will make me fall in love with the bike again ;)

I did the same but eventually had it Dyno Tuned (custom map) and it was even better (VTEC transition was even better). Changes the bike for the better.

Once I get some steady employment that will be the plan. Huey, the owner of Marietta Motorsports here in ATL knows the VFR pretty good and is one of his favorite bikes.

this winter i guttted the cat....removed the o2 sensors ... removed pair valves completely and evap can... installed pcIII... already had two brother pipe..running the tinyminds map... front end comes up in first right when the vtec comes in everytime...with stock gearing ..unbeliveable... whole new bike....

So far I'm getting about 170-180 miles a tank with mixed riding (from fill up to when the "empty bar" starts blinking) on Coyze's map. Bike is running great, no issues with FI light or O2 sensors (with the RadioShack resistors). All is well after 90 days or so.

Yeah baby! :fing02: PCIII also works its magic for me and considering the improvement in rideability and smoothness, I don't really care about gas milleage--although I'm sure the increase is really marginal, many other factors would be more important (gas quality, how fast, how often around vtec transition point, weight on bike, wind, etc.).
