So I know there is allot of info about aftermarket exhaust systems on here, but the bottom line for me is, who makes the set with the most authority?
My 04 came with a set of Microns installed, and they are way to quiet. I don't want obnoxious, but a nice bark would be appreciated. I've heard the 2 brothers and found they were pretty quiet too. I also didn't like how one can was fake.
My last bike was an 02 Suzuki Bandit on which I had installed a holeshot pipe, and found that to be perfect. Nice bark when on the throttle with no drone. Any suggestions?
Did you hear the 2 Bros system with or without the silencers in? I have that system on mine and go back and forth on leaving the silencer in. With them in, it has a nice tone but is a little on the soft side. With them out, it's quite loud. I can't imagine wanting much louder than that without REALLY trying to piss off the neighbors.
Pull those caps off the Micron system ans take out some of the packing, then try it out, you can repeat if needed. You can also modify the muffler core itself pretty easily to be louder. I don't see a point in buying another exhaust when you already have a nice name brand set on there. Work with what you got, I'm gonna be doing the same thing to my Micron pipe because its super quiet too. I've honestly been debating running an open header, but I really like the look of my high mount Micron.
Two Brothers V.A.L.E. System has two "Real" Cans. Only one is connected and when you get to the point that you need to repack the used one, you'll be able to just swap the left and right cans instead of repacking.
The V.A.L.E. exhaust for the VFR is in my opinion very loud. So loud that I sold mine for something quieter.
I like the sound of the Two Brothers! One of the other issues with the Microns is that I don't care for the look. I'd like a set with short cans and conical ends. Kinda split between the Leovince and the Two Brothers.....are the Leo's fairly loud? Anyone interested in a set of very nice Microns??

Started up my bike the other day, it had an even amount of steam coming out of both cans and I thought "how weird would that look if steam was only coming out of one".

I agree, that's what's kept me away from them. They (it?) does sound good though.
When I first picked my 6th gen and found that I was being drowned out by every other bike I rode near, I knew that I had to do something, but I liked the stock look.
I gutted the cans based on a thread I found here- with some minor differences. I love the sound and people remark about it including other VFR guys. It sounds like a V8 chevy running open headers if I want it too but I can still sneak through the neighbourhood at night at low RPM without waking the neighbours. OR I can wake up the noisy dogs next door if I feel like it!
I love the look of the Lasers but gutted stock does it for me.

I love the new look and sounds great.......also lost 17kg in the proccess!!!!

But I couldnt do it, love the under seat pipes, plus youre left with a gaping hole under the ar$3.
Instead of paying for a new pipe, the noise of which you will soon grow tired of, just find some VFR riders to go riding with and you'll have your own V 4 Orchestra going. My 5th gen with the hi mount stain-tune sounds great to me sans spud silencer insert . But on longer rides and commuting I admit I find the extra noise fatiguing. Hope you find that happy medium.

Looks different and great to me, and I bet is sounds great. Do you have to remove or move exhaust when taking the rear wheel off? What brand and model Ti pipe is that?
Check out the FMF Apex pipes. Awesome look and sound. It dresses up the ear end of the VFR.

Yeh the pre vtec headers fit but I dont think they are stainless so they guys rekon you need to get them ceramic coated.
Look into Delkevic, I dont know if they have the stop for the centre stand.
Got my Motads from MC Performance in Melbourne, think they were around $700 though. Now all the piping is the same colour, small detail but I love it.
It was either posted on here or over at vfrworld about the Delkevic lack of quality control. The guy posted pics looking down the pipes and where two would meet there would need to be a hole cut out for the exhaust to continue to flow. Well it look like they just used a torched to make the holes and they weren't even size matched to the tubing. Terrible job.

Another thing, Ive heard stories of both Motad and Delkevic not fitting without being heated up and bent in places. I had problems getting the clamps to seal for the rear down pipes and the down pipe for the mufflers. So either way, dont be surprised if its not as simple as unbolt and bolt on.

Theyre just stainless, no coating. What will they do, just go a darker shade of gold?
Apparently the Motad headers (featured) used to come with a matt grey finish (sand blasted I think) :dry: , pretty happy with the stainless and how it matches the down pipe for my mufflers.

Thinking they would look awesome on the right bike but maybe a bit out there for a 6th Gen, love to see a pic if theres one out there.

Heres a thought:
TBR elite pipes, cut the cat off the headers and get custom pipework from the mufflers to the headers to make it a 4 into 2 system (rather than a 4 into 2 into 1 into 2)
