Bike cut off on it's own

I've had my bike now for about 4 weeks and on my way into work today my bike cut off on me while i was pulling into the parking lot. I was using the engine to brake and just letting the bike idle down in gear. I was in second gear and the bike just continued to idle on down till it just cut off, as if it just ran out of fuel or flooded. I immediately started it back up and it did fine the rest of the way through the parking lot.

I also have noticed recently too that the bike seems to making a lot more gurgling/popping noise in the exhaust when I�m in gear idling down, engine braking, as if a lot of extra fuel is getting into the exhaust. The last few tanks I�ve been putting 92 octane in it not sure if that is causing the issues, I will be going back to 86 on next fill up after reading a few post on here about fuel grades.

I inspected the air filter the other day, and thinking about it at work this morning I may have forgotten to plug in the flapper valve vacuum hose, I will inspect that first thing when i get home.

Has anybody experienced this before, need some help trouble shooting?

Check & adjust your throttle cable slack. The owners manual describes the process
Some guys 'ditch' the flapper mechanism buy simply pulling and plugging the vacuum line to it. The key is that it needs to be plugged

Try turning up your idle a little bit. My bike does this all the time and a tiny idle adjustment is the cure. Also getting gas at certain gas stations causes the problem to get worse. I have even nailed down that a certain pump at the Mobil station I like to use makes my bike stall when coming to a stop. Which leads me to believe that it may be a water problem.
