Bent Rotor

So I finally get a chance to take out my 2007 Interceptor (non-ABS) and I'm feeling some shaking in the front end. I bring it home and sure enough, the right front rotor is bent! The only thing I can think is I bent it when changing tires this winter. I was so careful too! Well, anyone know of any good source to buy a new rotor? Thanks

Did you do this on a Habor freight changer?

I use wood 2x4's as a spacer on the bead breaker, and you really have to watch the big bar and dont lay it down while in the tire, or it will lay right on the rotor.

Yep--I used a Habor freight changer. I alway place the wheel on a couple of 4x4's left over from building my deck as a way to keep the rotor off the floor when breaking the bead. I've changed many tires and never had a problem. It's the only thing I can think of that would have bent the rotor. Now---where t buy a new one????

You can straighten it with an 18" crescent wrench and a dial indicator and a lot of patience.

Slammer did it, and I think he had a tutorial somewhere, lemme look.....

A bent rotor would mostly cause issues when braking, not as much when just riding! Balance is more likely the issue IMO.

Yes as mentioned if you have a dial gauge(also available at HF as is a magnetic stand) you can straighten out most of this type of rotor issue!
