Power Commander III

There's a guy locally here selling his PC3 for $30!  It's a serial connection he says and he used it on his 2003 VFR 800.

Mine's a 2006.. this is the pic he attached.

That's a great price fi it works, even being a PIA Serial port model. Thought the III's were all USB, guess not.
Not having USB just makes it slower to load maps, might be older sofeware too.

It'll work as long as you have a serial connection to talk to it with. My experience with USB/serial adapters is pretty sketchy. If it's what you want pick it up, load the proper maps for your bike, plug it in and go.

The Non USB version of the PCIII doesn't have as fine a fuel table per RPM as the USB version does.

I believe that the PCIII USB can map every 250 RPM, and the PCIII non-USB only does every 500.

I could have the numbers wrong, but it definitely has twice the resolution.

I have the serial version, worked great with an old laptop that had a serial port.  I got the Cozye map for the USB version, and just "interpolated" or averaged the values into a lower resolution so it would fit on the serial version.  Works great!

I did the same thing and uploaded my averaged map to the downloads section.

thats weird he seemed a pretty straight up guy.....I figured it was worth a 35 minute drive and 30 bucks just to see if it worked....I'm a sucker...how many magic beans and how much lol....
i'll see if this thing works...I just finished doing my 06 and up turn signal and oem tail light conversion....i'll take a crack at it when the weather turns crap

i forgot to mention this was the best 30 bucks I've ever spent...got a USB to serial adapter and it worked like a charm.
