I have just noticed the connector between the stator and rr is completly fried on my bike. I have tried to seach for a fix but the more I read the more I'm getting confused on how to fix the problem? The bike did have the recall done to the harness. I was also wondering what is causing this to happen on my bike? Do I need to replace the rr? Ect.....

Thanks!!

I would call the dealer and ask about the recall first. I am not exact sure what that entails, but you may want to do more upgrades after the dealer is done.  - If you do fixes first and then take it to the dealer, they can blame your work for the problem and back out of it.

Some more 6th genners will chime it. -- You will want to repair the connector - if the dealer doesnt. Its possible that your R/R and stator are fine. We'll cross that bridge when you get there.

+1 on wiremybike.com.
Recall doesn't fix this issue - Sorry.
Search through this site - there are some excellent write-ups on how to beef up your charging system.
I went through this recently.  Ended up replacing stator and beefing up charging wires, adding grounds and rerouting the monitor wire.
Not difficult but takes some doing.  Wiremybike.com has the harness and instructions all ready to go and makes this job much simpler.
Good luck.

The connector frys via  resistance in the connection. once it has any damage , the connection will have to be replaced or hard wire soldered.

I'm going to get the harness from wiremybike.com and repair the connector on the stator side. Thanks guys for the help and pointing me towards that website.

Does anybody have any pictures of a VFRness installed? I'm having trouble figuring out where the green, red and purple wired spade terminals connect too. The directions also mention to connect the blue wire to the red/black wire? There is no blue wire! Am I blind? I don't know what to do here?
