I'm the recent owner of an 04 VFR800 (so not sure how long the filter has been used for) and was wondering how much longer can I get out of this OEM Honda air filter?

Blow it off with some compressed air, hold it far enough away that you don't blast it. If it's not hurting the power I'd run it.
Yea, I did air compressor it ;) Power seems ok, but seems a bit dirty to me and I have no idea when it was changed last. For peace of mind I might get a new one.

There's nothing wrong with that filter, it's good for another season or two
Mine looked just like that. I replaced it with a pipercross filter. Wow! from about 6500 rpm up, it growls strong (soundwise). Feels more powerful, but that could just be the sound.
