Leo vince exhuast impressions

So I just finished installing an aluminum canister Leo Vince conical end exhaust on my 2005.  Overall it is straightforward, it just took me a while to get the exhaust canisters to align correctly.  I did not use the 90 deg. bracket thing that bolts to the passenger foot peg bracket, not sure why you need this. The rubber lines that go inside the exhaust hangers did not match the hangers itself as far as the cutout, must have been the wrong part. Overall, good fit and finish.

The sound is great, I wouldn't want it any louder (without baffles).  To be honest, it sounds very similar to my old RC51 with a full akrapovich system.

Riding impressions are good.  Right now I can't seem to see any reason why I would need a powercommander.  I did multiple low RPM pulls on the way home, didn't really feel any hesitation.  You do get the popping on deacceleration, but I can live with that.  Is there any other reason to drop the $270 on the power commander??

Wow, looks great.
I like that finish of the muffler. Dislike the mufflers which ends up with the small tubes.

I like mine too and felt the same way about powercommander or not... right now leaning heavily toward not.

I like the look of the alloy LEO myself but still would prefer the Lasers but with the LEO close to 1/2 the price they'll do me.

I've had my Leo's on for about three seasons now (about 15000 miles). I can tell you they just get better. Put 10K on them and they'll amaze you with how good they sound at 8k RPM's :fing02:

I keep looking for a "slightly used" set......gonna take awhile.

I'm planning on picking up this exhaust for my VFR, too. Where is the system manufactured? $540 for two cans is pretty cheap. My Remus Hexacone for my old K1200S was $800 and it was a single muffler! It was titanium and carbon fiber, but still very pricey.

I put a set of the carbon fiber cans and added the PCV on my '08.  I run the cans w/o the baffles and love the sound.  Blip the throttle just right to get the quick, clutchless down shifts coming to a stop and its just great.  I added the PCV on mine to help smooth out the part throttle responsiveness.  I haven't had any tuning done yet but plan too soon.

So does anyone know where the system is manufactured?

I already bought this, and just awaiting for long shipping to Vietnam... (yeah, instead of modify the R1 Yoshi exhaust which you may know).

It's used, but looks good to me.

I just got a used carbon LV set exactly like that this spring. I'm loving it. I did install the baffles though, it was a bit loud around town otherwise.

Guys, I have my exhaus installed and test run for abt 10km.
Great sound, feel the bike power improved a bit.
Question: how hot are your Carbon fiber mufflers? I think mine is about 70-80 degC (can touch by my hands but just for 2-3 seconds only).
If I am not mistaken, CF mufflers on some of my friend' sportbike is cooler than that.

I haven't really tested much, but they felt cool enough that my worries of melting the taillights went away quickly. I can touch them with my bare hand even after long rides, but it's hot enough that I can't keep it there more than a couple seconds. Sounds like yours are very similar to mine in temps.

Mine set is used and the stainless steel clamps were not included. So I have taken from other exhausts - good news is that they look okay; not so good news is that they are a bit loose. I may need to put some modification to "shortern" the clamps.

Terc touhed on this but is it my age or does anyone else think they're a bit loud with the baffles out?  With the baffles in, too quiet.  I use my VFR to commute to work and it seems too loud around town.  I put the baffles in and cut the baffle tube down which gave it a middle ground sound level.  

My 93 with an R1 Akrapovic can custom fit to it is REALLY loud but I don't commute on that bike.
