Headlight Modulator?

Anyone have a headlight modulator installed? I purchased an SV650 a few years ago that had one installed and it gave a bit of piece of mind (warranted or not). I was thinking of installing one on my VFR.

I have the same unit from Signal Dynamics and think it is great. This will be the first mod I do to any future bike I purchase. There have been a few occasions where motorists have gotten upset at me, thinking that I was flashing my lights at them, but if they are too ignorant to figure out what is going on it is their problem.

I have the same SD.
The underside of the fairing may be too shaded and cut off the modulation when you want it (ie. When the sun is behind you)
Mine, mounted on the lower dash at times cuts off when the sun is in front of me. (I can tell from the reflection off a stopped cage in front of me)
At some point I'll move the sensor off to one side of dash facing the sky.

I did notice it going out every now and again, but the instructions say to face it down, so that's what I did.  Facing the sky probably keeps the flashing going at dusk which is what they were trying to avoid, but we probably want.

As for annoyed cagers, if they think I can flash lights that fast and have the energy to do it, they're nuts anyway.

Thumbs up to SDs wig wag back off brake light modulator as well.  Went on a group ride and got lots of questions/interest about that one.

Won't we look like VFR "Chp's" on a group ride...:D

Cars think I'm CHP now.  Folks slow down and that is exactly what I DON'T want.

I definately notice more double looks from cagers. That's what I want..

I've used the modulators before but found that amber fog lights seems to work as well but without confusing or annoying other drivers.   I have amber Motolights  (http://www.motolight.com/ ) on my ST1300 but didn't want to go that route on the VFR due to cost, installation requirements of the cable harness and switch , and  current draw.

So I installed these Photon Blasters (http://www.lights.sk..._Features.shtml ), very bright and more functions than the Motolights  at a better price. The 'Conspicuity Flicker' is a very cool feature but it is very hard to show on video.

The '02 VFR has these H7 adaptors on the high beam bulbs so the bulb plugs are different than the H4 plugs on later VFR models.  So if you order a plug and play modulator keep that in mind.

I have a Comagination modulator for a '02 VFR sitting around not being used.  I could sell for $45.  Anyone interested send me a PM.
