Bike doesn't seem to "lean" enough while on the side stand

I immediately noticed this when I bought the bike - it doesn't lean much while on the side stand. It makes me hesitant to park it anywhere that is not completely flat. Is there a way to adjust the lean angle of the side stand?

noticed the same thing when I got mine. I either just try to angle it downhill a bit, or if I cant ill put it on the center stand.

Maybe your bike has been lowered? Check how much fork tubes are sticking out of the clipons, and the rear triangle linkage. Arrow on the linkage should point forward as stock, and point up if someone has flipped the triangles around to lower the rear.

This is a good discussion because I've felt the same way but have no idea what is standard or how to test.

+1 on what Veefer800Canuck said. This would seem like the most likely cause. That being said, I almost always use the center stand just because I've seen too many incidents where the bike was knocked of the kick stand or the kick stand sunk into the ground or asphalt. That's not to say it can;t happen with the center stand it just takes a little more force to make that happen. About the only time I use the kick stand is when it's parked in my garage, and that's due to where I have to park it. Being on the center stand, the windshield would hit the shelf I park the bike under.

On the other side of the fence - I raised my back end with the Penske shock and the bike now leans over more on the sidestand

I have cut mine by 1 inch...

My bike is not lowered.

this may seem silly... but do you turn your wheel to the left when the bike is on the side stand? doing this shifts the center of gravity to make it more stable on the stand.

This is basic motorcycle stuff and you may already know it... if so, ignore it.

Perhaps a different kickstand was put on? Apart from seeing pictures of the fork protrusion above the triple tree, rear suspension linkage, kick stand and lean angle pictures, not sure what other suggestions could be offered other than what Anik has done.

+1 on checking the lowering.  How much does the bike sag when you get on?  I noticed that when I increased the shock preload to correct this issue, I also found that the bike was also higher in an unloaded condition which gave more lean on the side stand.  If you don't want to cut your own stand, and you can't resolve this any other way, Sigma Cycles can help.  See http://www.sigmacycl...x?pid=10.��Full disclosure:  I have this shortened stand on my bike, but have no financial interest in the firm.

Here's an option that might work for ppl that are looking for space in their garages.

He did one season on the V-5 on a satellite team, 2006, last year for the V-5. Finished 8th. Hayden won the championship.

LOL   thank you,  I havn't had such a belly laugh for what seem to be forever.

FWIW, I almost always put mine (Stock standard frame, no lowering)  on the centre stand when I leave it in a public access place. My reasoning is that , like you i feel that it always seems to be on the verge of tipping over the other way, and i reason that if some clown opens his door into it, I would rather repair a door bump to the plastics then to try to fix the damaged by the bike being knocked over centre and smashing down onto the ground on the other side.
