So i need to replace the pads on my bike. I found these on Amazon http://www.amazon.co...36158672&sr=1-1
its a full set and is 45 bucks...Is there anything i should be concerned about with these pads? Is there a better option?
I called my local honda shop and they was 95 bucks for two sets! (VFR's take 3)
I read up a little on Sintered brake pads and they seem fine unless you have cast iron rotors. i assume by looking at my rotors that they are steel.
Hard to say who makes them? Someone else recently posted up in "Bargin Finder" about a similar deal but they were EBC HH pads which are great!

Well, the item number says 'FA261x3', which would make me think EBC (EBC's PN for a 2002-2005 is FA261HH). But then they show the brand as BLS, which I have never heard of (unless our own BusyLittleShop is making brake pads). However, a quick Google search of 'BLS brake pads' shows that it is a valid brand name.
Cool, i checked it out. its showing 33 bucks a set so thats 100 dollars for 3 sets. out of my price range. i am going to settle for these 45 bucks for 3 sets.
Probably fine, I've been running cheap pads on the Viffer for a while, just make sure you take a file or dremel and put a taper/bevel around the edges of the pads. Keeps them quieter and allows a quicker more efficient bed in process. The one thing about cheap pads is they are a little messier with the brake dust. The ones I've been running are sintered pads that also contain kevlar, I haven't been able to overheat them yet, and they grab good when they are cold as well.
yeah, i live in western washington which is rain rain USA. sintered is a must because i ride in the wet all the time. at the 45$ price hard to go wrong unless they dont fit!
I will bevel the edges like you say. thanks. i will be careful to not take too much material off.
Im not worried about over heating them. i dont ride very hard and when i do ride hard i am all about acceleration, not so much deceleration. i like to slow down over longer distances.
