New to VFRD, soon to be getting VFR1200fd

Hopefully picking it up in the next few weeks (in Black). Been reading various posts which helped make up my mind so thanks everyone. Still interested in the low speed handling with no clutch any tips?

Finally took delivery of it today.

No drama's but still reach for the clutch every now and then. But only day 1.

One way to describe it. Smooth.

I test rode the DCT (in black) last year and posted up on VFRD so I can confirm what a great bike it is. :fing02:

Best part of 400kms today. Loving the auto mode. Getting used to it at low speed faster than I thought I would.

Very stable bike.

Love how those look in black.  How are you finding the low-speed clutching?  There's been varying thoughts on it... what are yours?

No problem really. Seems pretty predictable so far. Just like riding a scooter. A 160hp scooter.

Still feel for a clutch from time to time. That will pass.

It is definitely a good looking bike. Had my first experience of someone having their picture taken next to it today when I stopped for lunch.

I've got 26K miles on my DCT.  Clutch engagement is still as linear as ever.  There is typically a bit of grabbiness when the engine is cold before the hydraulics circuits have had a chance to equalize.  To get around this I hold the front brake and feed a bit of throttle until the back end rises just a bit, then everything is initialized properly.  Otherwise I have no issues with very slow speed maneuvers like u-turns, clutch is very smooth on engagement.

I also never use auto mode, I'm a manual shifter 100% of the time as it just feels more natural that way.
