I'm fairly new to the world of tunning, but do understand the principle behind these devices. Untill now I haven't really considered any other option other than a PCIII for cleanning up the rough spots on my 2004's VFR. The only mod I have is a gutted exhaust. I have also considered getting the G2 Tamer just to compliment the PCIII.

There's plenty of data on this site about the PC and even a few maps to download. However, I just saw a recent post where somebody installed a Rapid Bike 2 Module and considering the price it would apear that the Rabid Bike is the better deal. I did notice on their website that the Rapid Bike use to be $611.  I am some what hesitent now knowing they've dropped the price so much, usually a price drop that much usually means the company is either has finacial issues, product was over priced to begine with or worse it's just not that good of a product.

I've also found one post where somebody installed a Bazzaz as well for a sixth gen. I know very little about this one.

I was hopping that some of the more experienced riders/tuners out there could help in comparing these brands, pros and cons for each. And why most use the PC.

G2 Street Tamer Throttle Tube - $80

DynoJet Power Commander III - $270

Rapid Bike 2 Module - $245 (was $611)

Bazzaz Z-Fi - $380

Can't opine on the tuners - They intimidate the heck out of me.

G2 is not going to replace any of them, but rather can compliment them or simply be used to make your current throttle response a little easier to live with.

And when I say "a little", I mean just that.

I am sure the price drop in the Rapid Bike module 2 is just them clearing out old innovatory. The Rapid Bike module 2 has been around for a while. They have already made the Rapid Bike module 3, Rapid Bike Easy, Rapid Bike Evo, and Rapid Bike Racing. Although it has been around for a while, the Rapid Bike technology is still leaps and bounds ahead of power commander (like 10-15 years). The Rapid Bike intercepts the data in between the crank position pick up and factory ecu. Because of this you get 2 benefits, 1 you get control of your ignition map (+ or - 10 degrees ignition timing, adding a lot of low end torque, 8% more power at 5000 rpms) and 2, there is significantly less delay in the adjustments made to fuel and ignition timing when compared to power commander and bazzaz.

After going from power commander to Rapid Bike, I am never switching back. The software is amazing and the added lowend torque is awesome!

This coupled with the fact that it is actually cheaper than power commander and bazzaz is a no brainer if you ask me!

For the same price as Power Commander III, you should get a Power Commander V which has been proven to work on all 6th gen VFRs. I installed one on my '08 and the bike runs much smoother than before. It was the best money I spent on my ride and I am still kicking myself for not getting it earlier.
