Hello, im reading this on some ebay ads for the two brothers exhausts:
2002-09 Honda VFR800Fi Dual V.A.L.E.™ Slip-On Exhaust Systems: Two Brothers Racing proudly introduces our Dual Canister V.A.L.E.™ exhaust system for the VFR800Fi. Note: The exhaust is routed through the right side canister only. Included with the exhaust system are two P1 PowerTips™. A straight-through sound diffuser, the TBR P1 PowerTip quiets the pipe by 2 to 3 dB while actually adding measurable HP gains at the top of the powerband.
my english is probably not that good but am i reading that the left exhaust canister is just for display?? and remains not connected to the exhaust system. if thats true that really sucks, i was going for those but i will get a set that uses both sides.
That is indeed correct. From what I read about that system, they concluded that using two pipes actually resulted in a loss of power.
It does suck but since the dummy pipe is a fully fonctionning pipe (from what I have read), would it not be possible to switch them after a few years instead of repacking?
That sucks because the system for the 5th gen is $335 and for the 6th gen $635, you pay 300 dollar for a can you won't use, two brothers should design a dial pipe system instead of trying to use the same can for all bikes, or at least make a dummy that can be sold cheaper than a functional can that will be used a a dummy
Not sure if they still make it,but the 'Stash Can' set would be another option. At least the stash can can be utilized for storage and it comes with a lock.i believe that is what is pictured above. I don't what those wires are for, maybe that's where he installed his alarm system.
I would still reccommend the TBR cans. The second can is functional and once the left side can becomes worn, you can switch it out with the right side and don't have to send it off for maintenance. Two Brothers has power gain by not using the second can and I can tell you, it's a hell of a difference. Plus the sound makes your balls wobble. And that's just bad ass!
