Hi, new to VFRD, I'm a fairly new rider, this is my second bike.
It's an '02 VFR800 with about 15k miles
I am having charging problems, but could always get the bike to start.
I put a new battery in the bike and was going to check the voltage at idol and 3kRPM's but now the bike wont start, the engine turns over fast enough, but will not attempt to run. Any ideas??
Not to belabor the obvious - but presuming the fuel is good and that there's enough of it, are you hearing the fuel pump for a few seconds when you turn the key on (before thumbing the starter)?
New batteries are not always fully charged batteries - they often spend a lot of time sitting in stock before being sold to the consumer. Check the voltage across the terminals with the key off - you should get high 12 to low 13 volts. Also, check that all fuses are good. If all's good and it still won't start, report back. Post a video if possible.
