02 800 Refresh

so just wanted to post up some pictures of a few refreshments I am treating my 02 to.

as most know I am swapping to the 8th gen wheel which I wont go into here I have the other thread for that part of the project, this is for everything else the ol girl is getting.

Great stuff! have you thought about running the rear brake lines through the swing arm?

How did you post pics of the rear wheel change with the swingarm off ? But anyway looks good .

didn't have time to post on this one last night, but wanted to get the wheel posted up.

next is valves, I also have a leaky valve cover gasket so need some of those too

So I'm close enough to the 32000 mile make to check valves, I have not checked them on this bike before so I figured might as well do it now... They are all fine. I pulled the rads off just to make it easier to get to, I plan to do a coolant flush any ways. So while I have the valve covers off I notice a oil leak around both valve covers so all new gaskets are in order too.

32,000 miles and all valves are with in spec, Got to love that Honda build quality.

yea, love Honda might not be the most powerful bikes out there, but I would not trade it for more maintenance ever.

some day I will have to take a picture of my Honda fleet.

took the weekend and flushed brake fluid and clutch fluid, never been real impressed with the brake feel on the bike, I have not rode the bike yet but I can already tell I will be happier this year, nice and tight. went by a post on here instead of the SM way easier to follow.

just need to sync it up. fix my gps audio and put it, figure out how to mount my new camera, tire pressure, lights, get inspected, hopefully install my JD shock and fork internals before I need to get off the bench. oh and a oil and filter change, damn and lube throttle cables and change grips.

I only brought it in to swap wheels and it just snow balled into a big list of things to do. glad I started a month before I planned.

You have one well loved 6th gen. There's a lot of satisfaction in a job well done - and it also conserves funds that can go to other mods or maybe a trip. Keep us posted on your progress!

got my tracking number from JDM the other day, my shock and fork internals will be here tomorrow. ordered 5 w fork oil yesterday so I will have that Tuesday. I will make sure I take lots of pictures of this. also got my Pirelli angel tires couple days ago, I have plenty of tread left on my PR4 for a while yet but could not pass up a deal for tires.

got a set for me and a set of Dunlop roadsmart 2 for a customer of mine, I was able to mount/balance his tires for $330 installed on his bike. he was happy as hell, normally it would have cost him $300 for just the rear.

Really looking forward to photos of your suspension install.

Or possibly different manufacturers. Mine came with a Hyperco (rather than Eibach) spring and is blue.

anyone have pictures where they mounted the remote reservoir for the shock? I got install instructions for the forks internals but nothing for the shock. I did a google search and it appears to be on the left side sub frame in front of the passenger peg is this correct?

No further issues with the reservoir, even when riding two-up.

I have kind of forgot about this thread, so I have had the suspension done for a while now and have about 2000 miles on it now. handles the corners like it always should have. I had my pr4s melting in the twisted roads on the way home from americade Friday. it was great, I would recommend the JDm set up to everyone I meet (and I have been).

I also just put a set of pazzo shortys on. I should have done a long clutch but I am getting used to it.

oh and I got a vfrness installed, charging works much better now
