Hello!, briefly; I tried removing the one bolt that's at the top of the caliper. (not the 12mm or the larger one at the left). It's a 14mm bolt that I believe it's the only one holding the caliper to the suspension.
It came out halfway, about haf inch, and stopped turning. So I forced it maybe another turn and it's stuck. It turns inward half a turn, and won't move any more.
I'm about to take the whole caliper off starting with removing the rim etc. But wanted to ask, is this normal? Is there anything else holding that one bolt to the caliper? Does it have a non-threaded head inside the caliper that prevents it from getting loose or being removed??
I'd appreciate any pointers. Thanks!
(pd: on the illustration there are 2 bolts next to each other. It's the uppermost, 14mm head. )
Is that one of the sliding mount bolts for the caliper? If so, the thread will be only on the end nearest the bolt head, after that the rest of the bolt is smooth and slightly waisted to hold some grease. I'm guessing that the back end is badly corroded and fouling the threads. I'd suggest working the bolt in and out with some penetrating oil and see if it would free up.

Yeah I thought the tip end might have corroded, but since it goes into a metal sleeve of sorts (it's not exposed), I thought it was a minor possibility. I will spray some antiseize and see about rocking back-forth. Thanks!
The bolt holding the caliper has a split pen afaik.
Why not take a picture and post here to make sure we "see" the problem?

The seat latch is doing its thing!. I attached a tiny zip tie holding the sliding piece, and a good dab of red Loctite to the bolt holding the latch. Here I always blabber about the one guy from wind-mill land who sent it to me!.
Sorry I took a pic before I left the bike but it didn't come out, and haven't returned to where it's stored!. Will take a pic tomorrow tho.
What is a split pen? I'll try to point it out on the attached, edited pic. If after hours of WD40 it won't come out, I'll bring the caliper to a shop. I really just wanted to ensure that there wasn't something like a wide tip stopper of some sort holding it in. The manual does not show the bolt clearly. (probably because there's nothing to show?). And as I mentioned since the tip isn't exposed, I didn't think it'd be corroded.
Found an old pic of the spot from when I last serviced the rear brakes. (Had changed them to Ferodos back then, there's now only 1mm of pad left in the cylinder-side shoe. and 2+mm on the opposite).

That bolt, and it's mate on the other end of the calliper, are meant to allow the calliper to slide side to side. The fact that you've got uneven pad wear tells me your sliding mounts are not moving freely and need to be cleaned out, polished up a bit and then re-lubed with silicon grease.

THE BOLT CAME OUT!
Yes evidently with this sliding bolt, not "sliding" properly, explains the uneven wear. I've cleaned both bolts that hold the caliper and greased them up.
