Gen 5 and Gen 6 wheels interchangeable?

I found an old post that stated Gen 5 and Gen 6 wheels are the same, but I'd like to check back in to confirm because the part numbers are so different. I have a 2002 gen 6 with brand new Michelin Power 2CT tires and I just purchased a 2001 gen 5 with tired tires. I hope to switch wheels between the motorcycles instead of paying $100 to remount the new tires. Thanks for any input.

Part numbers differ often due to color. Functionally they are the same.
