I'm really enjoying embarrassing sport bikes with my 07 VFR.  So much fun!

It says more about the rider than the bike...but what a great bike it is!

A good rider on a pure sport bike can spank a VFR pretty handily.  Of course that isn't to be done on public roads......

It's even more fun annoying sportbike riders on a 1990 ST1100 (with hard luggage mounted)! As long as hard acceleration or very deep lean angles aren't needed, the old ST can be bent round corners surprisingly quickly. Most of the art of riding quickly comes down to confidence in yourself and the machine.

Very true.  I once had an R1200RT that will keep up with any VFR with a good rider.  It was a fun bullet proof bike.  Just not comfortable with my short legs.
