I tried to turn the pre-load ajustement for the rear of my 2005 VFR and it seems seized. How would I un-seize it? Should I undo the philips screw from the knob and spray some lubricant in behind it?

Now seriously, yes, try to readjust it, or place directly a new one. Not that expensive to expose the engine to a valve-piston encounter... Not nice.

The original post refers to the remote rear shock absorber preload asjuster that comes on 6th gens with ABS. Not sure what that has to do with the engine.

WD40 might work. Sometimes though, it's the hydraulics on that remote's hose that need redoing. You may need to drop it off at a shock shop.
