Last 50 of 185- Seat Cowl Tab Repair The power of wind is pretty amazing, I would recommend you double reinforce it with a piece of plastic over it connecting to more of the factory cowl. I like the idea though. I need to fix mine.
- WHAT DID YOU DO TODAY TO YOUR VFR 6TH GEN ? Rode it again. It's performing quite well now. It's an enjoyable bike to ride. It is crazy smooth. Still rides super hot for what I'd expect. My R1, R6, and Kawi 650 all stay about 170-180°F cruising. VFR sits just…
- WHAT DID YOU DO TODAY TO YOUR VFR 6TH GEN ? It was windy and rained a lot in the first three hours, but the last 2 were fun. Excited for the next 2 days.
- WHAT DID YOU DO TODAY TO YOUR VFR 6TH GEN ? Taking mine on a trip, 5 hours each way and riding in between. Pretty stoked 🙂.
- Vibrations (possible spark plugs) Yeah that’s normal.
- Tires I got 20k miles on my Versys with the BT-023's. I really liked those tires.
- Bridgestone Spring 2019 Rebate -- February 15 -April 30 S21's are amazingly priced right now. They are going to be on my R6 and on the VFR this year. I'm pretty excited to run them!
- WHAT DID YOU DO TODAY TO YOUR VFR 6TH GEN ? 13 hours ago, VARIABLE9 Now you just need 99F and humid conditions during a track day to verify it! Hey in all seriousness, glad you seem on the right track to have it fixed! Thanks, Yeah sure looking forward to that.
- WHAT DID YOU DO TODAY TO YOUR VFR 6TH GEN ? Everything checked out today. It was a pretty great ride. That VTEC transition can be pretty rough sometimes! This week will be finishing up the wiring and then putting it all back together. Thanks for you help…
- Is my brake pedal bent? 23 hours ago, VFRpilotDave I used MaxSwell’s open ended wrench rear brake pedal bending technique and am now squared off again. A small piece of the toepiece underside splintered off but a touch with a metal file or…
- WHAT DID YOU DO TODAY TO YOUR VFR 6TH GEN ? Lowered the idle today after reassembling and everything checked out. I’ll see how it does tomorrow when I take it on a mini little local trip to Pitt. I do need to find a fuse for the headlight, forgot I left that…
- WHAT DID YOU DO TODAY TO YOUR VFR 6TH GEN ? 1 hour ago, VARIABLE9 You’ve done so much to rectify this issue, I feel like the only thing left is to check for passage obstruction internal to the engine. However I’m not certain as to how to accomplish this. I put a…
- WHAT DID YOU DO TODAY TO YOUR VFR 6TH GEN ? I got to ride the R1 and R6, took a day off working on the VFR. Hope to make some more progress tonight.
- VARIABLE9’s V4 VFR VICTORY VARIABLE9, 12/4/2018 at 11:53 AM Yesterday was a decent sunny day for MidAtlantic/CNJ with some wind and partly sunny 45 degrees F, so I took a nice ride on my local loop to see how the liner on my Astars Andes Drystar…
- 180/60/17 or 180/55/17 180/55 for the streets, 180/60 for the sheets.
- WHAT DID YOU DO TODAY TO YOUR VFR 6TH GEN ? VARIABLE9, 1/30/2019 at 11:21 AM Did you ever fix the overheating? I remember you had it in the dealer for quite some time, then got it back, but don’t recall a definitive fixed or not. Nope, Trying to figure it out…
- WHAT DID YOU DO TODAY TO YOUR VFR 6TH GEN ? Sending out the Injectors for cleaning. Hoping for some bad results pre-cleaning.
- No More Side Radiators - Period! Wow... If you can share more about the build I would be very excited to hear what exact parts you bought. Part of me is scared to do some BFE touring on my VFR because crashing means no coolant.
- Rear LED light cluster for 6th Gen @BuzznerSuntrusts my dad followed me once and mentioned how he liked when the rear lit up extra bright... I had a bulb out of course. Only the highs worked.
- Rear LED light cluster for 6th Gen Holy hotness that LED set up is bright af! Please provide more detail on how you opened the rear taillight as I’ve looked into swapping some LED boards intothere becuse of all the lost bulbs I’ve also had. Im so…
- eliminating VTEC on 6th Gen Seems it would suck a whole bunch extra fuel, but it would make that RPM transition way smoother.
- Battery: YTZ14s vs YTZ12s? More weight, but when you add a pound to a Buffalo you still have a 5000 pound buffalo 🙂.
- VFR Aftermarket mirrors Exactly ^. They require a special bracket to make anything modern fit. Old style stuck out mounts sideways. Modern is almost vertical.
- eliminating VTEC on 6th Gen Interested to see how this works for owners, but as a street bike why would you give up the best of both worlds situation?
- WHAT DID YOU DO TODAY TO YOUR VFR 6TH GEN ? Well, no. I’ll be back on this topic when it’s fixed. Fml.
- WHAT DID YOU DO TODAY TO YOUR VFR 6TH GEN ? Going to pick it up tomorrow. Boy I am excited.
- VFR Aftermarket mirrors I may modify a set of mirrors over winter from a More modern bike. I like foldable mirrors for trackday reasons or lane splitting reasons.
- Rear LED light cluster for 6th Gen I also have issues with the bulbs falling out. It’s a bulb base issue. If your bulb had a plastic base I would safety wire it to ensure it doesn’t work it’s way loose. LED boards are way to expensive for what you are…
- A nice pic I saw of the 07 RWB on the track YoshiHNS, 11/18/2018 at 10:24 PM Mid ohio? I remember meeting the guy with that 93 CBR900RR. Yes, his name is John 😁. He has an SP2 1000 RWB now too.
- WHAT DID YOU DO TODAY TO YOUR VFR 6TH GEN ? Yep, but verified by the Honda Tech it was done right. Call me stupid but if he says jump I’ll say how high. It’s out of my hands now I’m tired of working on this bike. Most I’ll do when I get it back is repaint.
- WHAT DID YOU DO TODAY TO YOUR VFR 6TH GEN ? Engine running out of time, and therefore running lean apparently. About a week out on delivery we will see!
- 5th Gen vs 6th Gen VFR800 16 hours ago, GreginDenver And you never have to do a valve adjustment on a 6th Gen . Well, actually... you're supposed to do valve adjustments on the 6th Gen but when you find out how technical and intimidating the job…
- 5th Gen vs 6th Gen VFR800 I like mine for above plus it's cheap to own. If only I can figure out my running issues lol. Also, 6G got ABS. The biggest bonus for the 5g is the gear driven cams. Sounds Fantastic.
- A nice pic I saw of the 07 RWB on the track Beautiful RWB collection with a VFR750 Close up. [image: DSC_0068.JPG] [image: DSC_0049.JPG]
- WHAT DID YOU DO TODAY TO YOUR VFR 6TH GEN ? They also checked my valve clearances and it looks like I did them right. Oh bother...
- WHAT DID YOU DO TODAY TO YOUR VFR 6TH GEN ? Wow thats some mileage! I ordered two CCT's for mine today. Honda says that is my running issue - CCT failure.
- I am thinking about pulling a trailer... The small egg one would probably work well for you.
- VARIABLE9’s V4 VFR VICTORY I’ve wanted to attend but it’s just out of my price range. Im saving for an April trip to COTA. F1 looks so neat. I saw Petit LeMans with the different race classes all on track at the same time last year and it’s…
- A nice pic I saw of the 07 RWB on the track Dangit, I need to post up the photos from this guy near me that brought a RWB edition of all kinds of Honda’s to our last track day. He had a whole line up of RWB’s that he used throughout the day.
- VARIABLE9’s V4 VFR VICTORY Perhaps it’s time to go with heli bars so you can get more space on the bar and move that inward?
- VARIABLE9’s V4 VFR VICTORY Or just stick to OEM 😝. Chinese is a downgrade. Variable getting lots of attention!
- VARIABLE9’s V4 VFR VICTORY Oh wow they really do have some kind of unit called that.. interesting.
- VARIABLE9’s V4 VFR VICTORY That sucks (Ba dum tss). What am I looking at sorry?
- VARIABLE9’s V4 VFR VICTORY PEOPLE HAVE NEVER BEEN SO DIVIDED. I Don’t know why I care about anyone else, but after seeing people crash because of them and the quality of OEM levers I guess I just want to preach to the choir.
- A nice pic I saw of the 07 RWB on the track Looks good. I wish northern trackday orgs would go away from taping up plastics!!! Looks so much better this way.
- WHAT DID YOU DO TODAY TO YOUR VFR 6TH GEN ? 6 hours ago, VARIABLE9 @Urbanengineer yep there’s an old racing friend that has a Crossplane. Regularly wheelies even small crests at speed. But my SV would outpace on backroads in the twisties. Hey I mentioned I had an…
- WHAT DID YOU DO TODAY TO YOUR VFR 6TH GEN ? 1 hour ago, VARIABLE9 What is going on with your VFR @Urbanengineer? The mechanic has had it for a week. (I know, probably not enough time.) I would agree on the VFR versus full bore sport bike. I could’ve gotten an…
- WHAT DID YOU DO TODAY TO YOUR VFR 6TH GEN ? 2 hours ago, VARIABLE9 Cute. Even has racing stickers. Just kidding! Dig it. I’ve always wanted one. Haha. Yeah a solid deal came up and I couldn’t pass it up. It wheelies it fourth gear. Quite the joy For an…
- WHAT DID YOU DO TODAY TO YOUR VFR 6TH GEN ? I forgot about the other fan, and disabling the stock one at speed. I’ll tell Honda to try straight water as an option for coolant as maybe the engine ice is corrupted too!
- WHAT DID YOU DO TODAY TO YOUR VFR 6TH GEN ? Great that you fixed up their mistake.
