Yup, pretty impressive stuff last year.....all those guys are really amazing. Very cool little article from Rog.......the kind of guy you like to see winning as he's very humble about it all......like I said, impressive!
Jason Disalvo was a guest instuctor at the last FS class I went to.....and to see him ride in person and be on the track following him around :o ......these guys are all "scary-good".....nice kid too B) Man, even the slowest guys out there race day are at an entirely different plane of riding skill.
What a maroon. He make boo-koo bucks, and still drives an old Chevy truck with a broken heater. He did spend the money for a new fuse though. Maybe he will spend his money on a laundry chute to moms house.

He's a kid...he rides a Kawasaki...he's excited about an air compressor...he doesn't know anything yet - if he knew something, he'd drive an old Ford.

I've always liked those Hayden kids. We used to watch them race down at Moroso when they were about ten years old. The piece on Superbikeplanet was an interesting follow-up to Greg White's show this week--Hayden and lots of Daytona stuff. Speaking of Daytona, the day to be at the track this year is Thursday.

My opinion is just the opposite. Lust for material things does not run his life. He's happy racing instead of trying to have the most riced out Civic on the planet. I applaud that kind of attitude and I wish more people were like that. :beer:

Yep! One of his lines was, I believe, "I'm just like you..." He's happy to be in is garage working on his bikes or truck using his new air compressor. I wonder how many UK chicks actually have any idea who Roger Lee Hayden is...lol

I bet you would be surprised at the number of UK chicks that do know who the Haydens are. Motorcycle racing is pretty big in KY especially at the county fairs. I raced against the Hayden family numerous times back in the day. Hell Nicky was on milk crates on the starting line on a 250 flat tracker beating everyone, including his Dad and uncle...I'm thinking he was like 4 years old. When I was at UK we would always go to the races, the chicks liked it as much as the guys did. Anytime motorcycling racing in any discipline was on the tube it would be on in the student union and in the dorm lobbies. KY chicks are cool...look no further than Ashley Judd. :wheel:

Can't argue with that! Well, that's pretty cool. I would think that college girls here in Florida would be reacting differently. He'd have to be driving a brand new H2 with 22" spinners and massive sound system. That beater truck with Santa on the hood would not cut it. Well, maybe in Gainsville...lol

I can assure you that he didn't drive the truck to Lex, probably wouldn't have made it. Much like UM women, UK women dig rides also. When I first got to Lex I had a 944 and the chicks dug that car. When I left I had a 911 and the chicks REALLY dug that car. I'm thinking women like cool vehicles wherever they are. :D

I am just recently getting into the whole motorcycle roadracing thing. I can't imagine seeing the Haydens at Moroso. If I knew then what I know now... Wow, would have loved to see that. That was before the chicanes, too! A bud of mine held the lap record there before the chicanes were put in. At least, that's what I've been told. The Start/Finish straight would be insane without the slow you down bus-stop chicane! I never got to see it. I have done three track days there, and I'm not sure I like it much.

That's what I hear! Plus, I don't think they have repaved the track since then. I love watching from the stands and seeing the oil stains on the s/f straight, because it is the drag race staging road! :o Turns 1 and 2 are a mess... It's so wide through 1, then narrows into 2, hard to pick a line or shift points. Downshift into 3 for T1, then 2nd for T2? Or 2nd for both? Third for both, then down into 2nd after coming out of T2? 1 and 2 are basically one big decreasing radius curve. I think I will be skipping the next available track day there. Only happens twice a year, but I rather drive to Jennings (5 hours) than Moroso (20 mins.)!
I think he can afford a new truck for petes sake. That doesn't mean he is a spend aholic, just enjoying the good life. He should still have tons left. I like to enjoy life, but still believe in saving for a rainy day. His rain has come and gone. At least he isn't blowing it all at once, just one fuse at a time. :P

What does it matter if he drives a Chevy or a Ford. He races motorcycles not trucks. And all of you that are calling him stupid, are not very bright yourself because while you make fun of him for what he drives he is getting paid for doing what he loves; racing motorcycles. And I am proud of the prgress he has made in the past four years he is doing great. And I feel this year you will be seeing a lot of Roger on the podium along with big bro Tommy.

It's all gonna be ok, don't worry about it. No one called him stupid. This is a Honda forum, but I have great respect for him and Tommy. They truely are great racers. I just wish Kawi would get it in gear and support a Superbike team for one or both of them. Other than Nicky, I don't think you will find a bigger Roger and Tommy fan in the Honda riders family than me! I think the point was just that he is just like a lot of us. Not out driving fancy cars and living in a huge house. He loves his truck, and time spent with his family! Kawasaki had a decent showing in GP this past Sunday. Maybe they can get that program going and bring up another Hayden!
Roger is good, with potential yes. I want to see all 3 Haydens do good, right now especially Nicky. Third would have been OK. Falling off and out is a bummer. :beer:
