I've looked at
the RAM mount, the
SPORTBIKECAM mount and the
Luggage Locker cam mount.3 different ways to get the job done but I haven't seen any of them in person or heard any real world feedback from anyone as to what works and what doesn't work so well.
So anyone here got any opinions from using these or other camera mounts ?
I'll be adding a Garmin 2610 and the camera mount, just trying not to end up with anything I need to flog on ebay.
I use one from lockhart phillips...it works very well.

I just went to GPS City. They sell RAM mounts, I ordered a ram mount for my GPS and MP3. After I receive them next week I'll post pics. :thumbsup:

I've got one of the RAM mounts for video(see home page for the Lake Hughes video) in which the base plate(once you get rid of the U bolt) holes happen to line up perfectly with the two front tank mount bolts on a 6th gen VFR.
Inexpensive and seems to work well. You can leave the base ball mount on all the time as it's pretty unobtrusive and stick the rest of the mount on as needed.
UFO from STN had this setup when he had his VFR and probably others as well, but that's where I heard about it.
I use the ram mount. I just keep buying attachments as my arsenal of crapola grows.

I used the same mount on my 96 and plan on using it when I get a 98. It worked very well and I got it used for $50.
I have the tank-mount Sportbikecam. It is well-made and works great. The camera is very solid...no shake, at all. You can mount the camera in such a way that it sees the tach, speedo, and out through the windshield. No wind noise, either. I also like it because the camera mounts very low, and forward. It is completely out of the way, and I've never hit the camera while riding.

The Ram mount looks like a good set up. I'm using still cameras only. How quick can you get the camera off the pedestal? I saw a pic of slammers setup some where, I'll have to search it out. I allmost think I need some kinda cup holder for the camera as I dont shoot from the stand, but need to get to it quickly. :)

Very quickly, atleast with the RAM I have. The camera just un-threads from the RAM camera base mount...a few turns and it's off. B)
