Already planning the ride for April so tell me what you think. The BLUE route is the primary route which I believe will take all day (8:30AM to 5:00PM easy totaling around 300miles) and the GREEN route I consider the alternate (leave about 8:30 AM and return about 4:00PM). The route will start at the Chevorn at 5/74 (Ortega Highway) and end up there. I realize there is some traveling up and down 15 and/or 5 but I was interested in checking out the northern part of LA that I heard was good riding.
INPUT :D / Who would be intereated in riding the route on Saturday April 16th?
Hey Jim Angeles Crest (st. #2) won't reopen till mid summer, snow and lots of it. Hwy#39 and Glendora moutain ridge are closed, don't know when they will reopen. Sorry to be the bearer of such crappy news.
Dude, you want to aim for Santa Monica and Hwy 1...that's where I go when I head south, and I'll bet that's what people mean when they say north of LA...

Thanks for the link! Sweat. Also, Thanks for the info. because I live in Oceanside so I don't get up to those parts often. I'll have to rethink the route.
We could always meet at the Rockstore or Canyon store (2 blocks away) if you want to ride Malibu. So Cal seems to be infiltrated by LEOs and no place is safe. Don't ask how I know.

I was just up in Santa Maria last weekend... even the back roads up there which are typically devoid of ANY LEO were swarming with them on Saturday and Sunday. Down south is just worse. MY wife will be the first to tell you that as I have had 3 tickets in the past 2 years... none on the bike though.
So where is that Pic on the Malibu map? I'll shoot for a May ride in the Malibu area. Also seems like you guys ride on Sundays more than Saturdays. Who's typically rides on Sat? Until then April I'm looking for some low SoCal routes. Input?
