This is designed to wear independent of your riding jacket, meaning it goes on underneath your jack and does not require your jacket to have a back protector pocket. This is essentially a universal back protector, as it can be used with just about any riding jacket. It is the "short" version, which means it does not protect the coccyx. It does have kidney protection that are inserted into the waist strap. It can be worn with out with them inserted.
