Hi folks,

Here's the latest great place to buy discounted Honda parts! 10/10

I recently purchased a new '07 VFR from a Honda dealership in Mason City, Iowa. While I was picking the bike up, I talked to the parts manager about the possibility of offering VFRD a discount to its members for Honda parts. He offered 15% over cost on Honda parts for any VFRD members.

To take advantage of this opportunity please call Mason City Honda at (641) 422-0000 and ask for Keith, the parts manager. When talking to him, mention that you are a member of VFRDdiscussion and ask for the discount. Please have parts number ready when ordering it can save a lot of time. I just ordered some OEM parts from RideNow.com and this place had the same price, which was a good deal cheaper than RonAyers, Action Honda, Dennis Kirk, etc.. I also found out that on RideNow.com if you order right off the fiche page you have to pay shipping but if you open the fiche in another window and put part #s in directly you get free shipping over $100. I find all this out after my order, of course. Thanks for the lead, though.

I just ordered a set of odds and ends needed for my 4th gen project to see how these "new" guys work.

From Ronayers.com the total was $107.47 including $8.00 shipping.

From ServiceHonda.com the total was $76.27 plus ??? shipping. Online doesn't calculate it, they send you an email with the charges after you have submitted your CC. I don't like this system but they have always had reasonable rates and fast shipping.

Finally, hdlparts.com totaled $79.31 less a 10% discount from mentioning VFRd and $5.00 shipping=$76.38

I spoke and ordered with Dave Lusk the parts manager. I read the parts numbers off their site to him to get the discount. I don't like doing that, not only because it's more effort on my part but there's more chance of getting the wrong item. He didn't read them back to me. I should have asked but didn't. I did ask if I could just use their online ordering page but he said I needed to deal with him directly to get the discount.

He said I should have the parts next week.

So did you tell them the lowest price you found "ServiceHonda.com the total was $76.27" and they beat it or did they just beat it without saying anything ? :unsure:

I've yet to use them except for the Honda 3yr Protection Plan which was almost half of what my local Dealer quoted ($375 vs $699). :thumbsup:

Huh. When I called them the salesman (Rick?) was looking at the same diagram I was and confirmed the numbers for me. I thought it was good I had to look at the diagrams for the numbers that way I had some clue as to what I was ordering. I will let you know if I get the right parts on Monday.

Nope I didn't tell him on purpose. I just ask for the "VFRd discount". He gave me 10% off which was $7.31 so that's beating them by more than $5 plus lower shipping. HDL's online prices are slightly higher than service honda but better than ronayers.

I was ordering about 8 things from 3 different bikes for my frankenbike 4th gen.

In the old days on the "big list", we had a similar deal with azmotorsports.com You could order on line and submit your vfr discount in the "remarks" box. It wouldn't be calculated in the online total but your CC would show the savings. Again, kind of clumsy but it worked.

He told me that Service Honda scans his web site prices to set theirs, just remember whatever the lowest price quote you get anywhere on Factory parts, they promise to beat them and ship free over $100. :thumbsup:

I'm going to give these guys a chance, I need to load up my CC with some much-needed body parts for the viffer... we'll see if they still ship for free when I tell them I need an upper and two side fairings... not doubting, just curious... I also need some misc. brackets, I wonder if they sell Honda-brand coolant?

I got my parts a couple of days later than their estimate; no biggie. Two items were backordered (not hdl fault of course) and I wasn't charged for them but one very necessary item wasn't in the box NOR was it on the order list. Very grrrrr. Since I had to order on the phone and not use their online system, I have no paper trail to prove or disprove who's at fault here.

I might use these guys again if it's only one or two expensive items as the cost savings could be significant but if it's a small dollar amount or more importantly a multi-item order, I'll stick with servicehonda or ronayers

(Tank, Cowl, Mirror, Brake lever, Hero peg (cap bolt on the under the rt. peg)). Chalk it up to stupid rookie error... parking lot tip over. :pissed: :pissed:

I have been dealing with Honda Direct Line for years when I had my Goldwing, so I was happy to introduce them to this forum. I ordered a set of hard bags and right side mirror from them for $800 total. $750 for the bags and $50 for the mirror to include free shipping. They arrived in great shape and right when HDL said they would be here. They are a great group to work with and I hope everyone else has good experiences with them.

Ordered a right mirror last week, have the mirror on today. Transaction was simple and I liked the price as well! I'll do business with them again. I tried to give the local dealer a shot at the mirror but at $87 that was way too high...

While loading my bike into a moving truck by myself, I dropped my bike. Busted the right mirror and footpeg. Dented the mufler cover. After the cursing was over, I had to hit the road. Local bike shops in my new home are few, far between, and expensive. This site rocks! I'm going to use them to rebuild my baby and whatever else I can come up with.

Ralph saved me almost 1/2 over what my stealer wanted to charge me.
I was even a bit past my warranty, but Honda never sent me a renewal.
Ralph was nice enough to call Honda and get an exception for me.
Within about a half hour after paying I got a call back with my policy number.

He said they have great prices on oem and aftermarket parts too,
I'll certainly be ordering from them again.

Quite amazing customer service if you ask me, Ralph really went above and beyond.

Highly recommend.

No worries, it's always good to price around IMO. Many times on larger priced items you'll find one place cheaper on most of the items only to find one item cheaper at the place with mostly higher prices. :unsure:
Still wondering, Does CPW or any of these other places offer free shipping?
That can be a major cost factor too when buying from anywhere that doesn't ship free.

Results, I guess you really do need to talk to Dave to get the DEAL, but would be nice if he would just tell his few counter guys he does have. I hate to bother the head guy with just getting qoutes right now.

The Results - mid and upper panel from HDL (without talking to Dave but did mention VFRD - $734.34 - Service Honda no hassle disounts $632.00

Its nice to be able to just get a good price without going through hoops but I guess its worth it sometimes. I may just call back and ask for Dave and regive him my #'s and see what he comes up with.

Not a very helpful example of your experience when you Don't follow the directions! What good does it do to say it doesn't work if you do follow directions??? :unsure:
You could have gotten a much cheaper price just going on-line at HDL like you do with Service Honda pricing, but you get an additional 10% off by calling. The parts guy gets paid extra for selling for extra, that is why you need to talk to the Boss to save the extra money. He quoted you a high price because you didn't check to see how cheap it was listed on-line so he thinks "sucker" and retails your butt! The whole idea here is that if you want to pay less than ANYWHERE else all you have to do if follow the directions, spend a little effort in a phone call and asking for the right guys! How hard is that? :angry:
If you want a no hassle quote just use HDL's on-line parts service and know you can get an extra 10% off that listed price with a phone call and get free shipping to boot! :fing02:

BTW does Service Honda ship for free??? If not what did they charge you to ship these items you just ordered??? :huh:

CyclePartsWarehouse has shipping charges, which are based upon the dollar amount of the order, with the caveat that it could cost more, depending on the size/weight of the item. A little odd, now that I think about it.

On other teensy/small items (not necessarily with CPW), which I�ve ordered on-line, when going into an automatic on-line check-out system (that usually calculates UPS shipping charges), I�ve called them up and said, �Hey, just stick the darned thing in an envelope and send it to me for $0.41,� and they�ve done so.

On the web site, CPW also goes so far as to say that they offer no further discounts on their pricing. Some of the prices showing up in this thread are sooooo close that I don�t know if it would be worth asking CPW if they�d be willing to offer a VFRD discount. I�m certainly not timid about asking questions. Therefore, just for the sport of it, I�ll probably go ahead and ask. If they say, �Yes,� I�ll broadcast that information on this thread.

I just had an opportunity to work with Dave Lusk from Direct Line Honda. The process is just as easy as Bailyrock indicates. I could not make the purchase however because of my own procrastinations. The tire I wanted to purchase from them simply was not in stock- althoug it generally is they say. They could've gotten the tire from their other store but it would've arrived on time "best case scenario" and I couldn't take the risk. I had to purchase the tire from the place they were going to price match because they could get it to my house in 3 days- they had it in stock. It's the Pilot Road 2. Dave was trying his best to make the deal happen and I appreciated his efforts. I will definitely purchase from them in the future.

Shouldn't he be offering free shipping as well from silverpete03's post? But considering the cost even with shipping it's a good deal. :laugh:

And FYI...shipping from Service Honda is not cheap. I am paying $20 in shipping on an assortment of bolts, a gas cap (Rebel 250), etc. Minimum shipping charge with them is $9 (even if you order just a bolt). :blink:

Service Honda's shipping is a killer! 22% they want for my $90 front seal/bushing order. I hate paying so much when i know what shipping will cost on those items. I am going to give Keith a call at Mason City and see what it comes to.

*edit* I ordered my parts...saved $15 over the Service Honda price, and only paid $7 shipping instead of $20. Total savings was close to $28 that way, plus I was able to order a couple pints of fork oil and thus save a trip to the dealer (20 miles)....very nice, Keith was good to work with.

I bought some new plastics after my low side from Keith @ Mason City Honda and had a great experience. He beat Service Honda's price (which was the lowest of Ron Ayers and Honda Direct Line) by $90 and I didn't even tell him what they were charging me. I had the parts at my door in less than a week!

Well, by looking at the way the warranty is listed you either got a "good" deal, or a great deal. Is it a three year warranty, 12 mo factory coverage with a two year extension? Or do you actually have a 48 month total warranty now, 12 months factory + 36 month extension? I sell these and it is kinda hard to accept him selling a 36 month extension for 30.00 over cost. Might be counting on the service work you will bring him..

Another plug for Keith at Mason City Honda. While I may not buy the parts to repair the valve damage I suffered, his prices for the parts came in under $200, vs $241 from Service Honda. I even spoke with his tech about what to do with my head and he suggested buying a new bare head over having mine rebuild. $560 for the head brand new.

Here is another thumbs up for Keith at Mason City Honda. I called him to get prices on some engine parts I needed. I gave him the part numbers and he gave me lower prices than I had yet to find. He then asked me if I was with VFR Discussion! Of course I confirmed that, and he came back with even lower prices. I was calling on a Tuesday and wanted the parts before the weekend, so special shipping would be required. He got my address and phone number and told me he would call me back with my options. vfr781I just ordered some OEM parts from RideNow.com and this place had the same price, which was a good deal cheaper than RonAyers, Action Honda, Dennis Kirk, etc.. I also found out that on RideNow.com if you order right off the fiche page you have to pay shipping but if you open the fiche in another window and put part #s in directly you get free shipping over $100. I find all this out after my order, of course. Thanks for the lead, though.

Oh God Ride Now is still in business! :blink: I hope you dont expect to get the correct parts that you ordered and in a timely manner. Are they still in Canada where they more than likely drink on the job because they dont know the difference between a left and right lower cowl fairing even after I told them 4 times over the phone and they still screwed it up. I dealt with these people about 3 years ago and it was the worst people to ever talk to on the phone. I still have there emails if you want to read them. There was a joke on here that they should be called Ride Later....much later. I will pary that you get your stuff, you will need all the help that you can get with www.Ridenow.com :(

Just placed an order with keith. He did save me a bunch. I had 12 items and total was $202 shipped. Went onto hondaparts-dirct and just the water pump, rad cap, and 4 insulstors was $200. Discounts rock!

I didnt want to replace my water pump but i jinxed myself after telling someone it hasnt weeped in a year. Now its doing it again. I thought this bike was suppose to last forever. LOL

Edit: Keith gave me a pretty fair deal on tires too, just in case anyone is having trouble sourcing from the regular online shops. He probably didn't beat the best prices I found after he had to ship them to me, but he was darn close and since I needed the part for my VTR fan mod anyway I just had him ring those up too.

Hard to believe, but I just had my first dealing with Keith at Mason Honda and it was a good one.

At 92,000 miles I'm needing my second CCT on my 02 so I looked at their web site. The part listed for $97.47 and they showed an on-line discount of $77.98 so I gave Keith a call and told him i was with VFRD and he said how about $61.65, bingo send it.

$7 shipping and it should go out tomorrow.

Always have had great prices and service form Keith at Mason City. As per other post got a great deal on black panniers for my 04 6gen through DavidSilverSpares , who now has a Penn. warehouse. Check them out- parts only.

A few weeks ago I had a run-in with a couple of dogs up on the BRP and had to replace the upper cowl. Keith at Mason City Honda gave me a 15% discount off their already discounted prices. The cowl arrived a week after I ordered it. I will definitely remember to call Keith if I need parts for my bike again!

Tried Keith at Mason but the time zone thing kept us from connecting. Partzilla had some great online prices, I had 28 items and almost $500 worth to order.

Emailed the list to my new local dealer, Roseville Honda Motorsports, http://www.rosevillehonda.com/, and they came back about 3% less than Partzilla. With tax I paid about 2% more but that's fine to support a local dealer and pick up myself. Big thanks to Matt in the parts department for knocking almost 40% off their list prices.

Now if only install was included!

Yep. I just recently had to order a part for a Goldwing that I damaged when my bike tipped over. Saved me about the same for the part and the Goldwing owner was completely satisfied with his new OEM Honda part that matched the paint perfectly. This was after doing some comparison shopping around a few of the websites that usually offer good prices.

As long as Keith keeps offering those competitive prices I will keep shopping there at Mason City. :fing02:
