I've been checking for about a week already, and the site doesn't come up anymore.
I've been a memeber of that site for quite a while, but I haven't visited it for a long time, cause frankly, Slammers site is just so much better with all the nice features.
I still looked in there once in a while, but the discussion threads looked very uninteresting and tired the last time I looked about a month ago. But it's kinda sad if the old VFR site is gone for good. It's like losing an old friend. I'm even reluctant to remove the bookmark from my computer. :(

I have some good news for you. You can use the "Wayback machine" to reach alot of the content from that website still.
Just go to
http://www.archive.org/ and in the box that says "Waback Machine" put in the URL to the texas vfr garage then click on the "Take me back" button and voila! You will be transported back in time to when the site was still accessible.
Alright.... this is a archive database that previously archived the website. You'll be surprised what you can find using this archive site. I found my very first homepage I made 15 years ago still accessible through this "Wayback Machine". That site dissapared from the web at least 12 years ago.
The archived version of the mailing list, complete with search, can be found at:
