Went to my first ever track day yesterday at Willow Springs. I had an absolute blast! Even tough I was probably one of the slowest bikes on the track that day, I must say that I was doing the VFR proud. By far riding the heaviest bike and using Sport Touring tires (and having NO EXPERIENCE AT ALL  ), I was turning in times around 1:58. It was the most fun I have had on a bike yet and can not wait to do it again. I did learn just how out of shape I am though and how much being tired can affect your riding. The last session before lunch was not pretty. I kept missing my line and became a danger to others, so I headed for put row before someone got hurt. After lunch I did one more session and realized that I was just too tired to continue on for the day. I called it quits. I will be back tough, and in better shape so I can do thw whole day. :wheel:

YO, Crash1973,

I did a Reg Pridmore CLASS school last spring at Streets of Willow. It was my first time ever on a track. I had a BLAST! Check my home page for a picture of me and my `01 VFR800 at speed coming out of the far north turn (#8 I think).

Take care.

Love those track days. MTC does a good one. Maybe next month. Wish the AMA would say screw Fontana, and come back to Willow. :wheel:

That would be AWSOME!! Especially since I just moved to Rosamond and live just down the street from the track.

Tomorrow morning is the day. My stuff is cleaned up, leathers and boots oiled, locked and loaded, ready to roll early. Taking the day before off was a god plan. Man, the adrenaline is pumping already just from getting the bike prepped and stuff packed. Fill the truck, the bike, the 5 gallon can that says race gas on it. With 87 octane, ha. And the 2 gallon can. $45 of gas and the truck already had a half tank. Wow. An early wake up won't be a problem, but how am I gonna sleep? :wheel:

Probably not very well, like usual before a track day or trip. Laguna Seca! :goofy:
A little coffee and more anticipation adrenaline in the morning will do the job. Damn I can't wait.
