I have a '02 VFR and need a mounting bracket for a Garmin iQue M5
IQue M5 I read a few posts where members successfully mounted GPS receivers.
I specifically liked the RAM Mounting System (RAM-B-149-GA2) hooked up to the
Garmin GPS V I had a look at garmin website accessories (mounting brackets for the iQue M5 but I'm not sure if any of their solutions would work for me, have a look at
accessoriesThus if anyone has successfully mounted iQue M5 on 2002+ VFR let me know how, or if you have good ideas let me know.
Thanks
I doubt this will be of any help to you, as it seems most on this site get the $$$ mounting systems, but I took another approach. $3 worth of velcro on the handlebar plate near the ignition, and the gps secured with the strap around the handlebar, and voila. It's quite protected behind the windscreen and it has never come close to falling off.. Of course, that's no way to treat your baby viffer, but I'm lazy and technically challenged.. :P

LOL, if I spend some $600 on a iQue M5, I would hate for it to depend on a piece of velcro... thanks for the thought though, have you had a look at the iQue M5...?? what a kewl PDA, specially the way the processors are setup for built-in gps receiver.

Yeah, that's a pretty nice tool you got there, different grade than my old $130 Etrex, and definitely worthy of more than two strips of velcro.. :-)
If worst comes to worst, you can also fit a strong plate to a RAM mount, and fit it with velcro and a strip-on clip. In all honestly, I think you will fall off the bike before the PDA does with that setup, but does have that cheap junkyard duct-tape feel to it, which is oh so wrong for the might VFR, especially a red one!
Ok, I promise, I shall mention velcro no more.
