Hi, I installed the healtech quickshifter on my '02 VFR 800. It works great on upshifts.
Problem is, when I pull the clutch and downshift I usually do a throttle blip. The thing is, when I do the throttle blip the fuel is cut at the moment I downshift so the RPMs don't increase or don't increase enough. This results in a crappy, jerky downshift and a small skid is possible if done at high RPM.
I've read on the Healtech's site that for those motorcycles that have a shift rod it's possible to disable the fuel cut on downshift because the sensor can detect if the shift rod is pushed or pulled. Unfortunately the only way to install the quickshifter sensor on the '02 VFR is on the bolt, as there is no shift rod, so this option can't work.
That got me thinking, is it possible to use the existing clutch sensor to disable the quickshifter sensor when the clutch is pulled? Like wire something up to cut the signal of the sensor when the clutch sensor detects that the clutch is pulled.
