New tires presented an opportunity to finish a "RC26-II" Upgrade Kit.

Restored F3 front end with RT springs, new Nissin calipers and pads.

F3 5.0" rear wheel with a new rear brake set-up.

Original parts are a nice Starter Kit for another 86 VFR.  1993 F2 wheels and forks with RT Springs and Emulators, RC36 front calipers and (modded) rotors.

Already have the other needed bits, 1988 RC24 lower triple clamp and RC36 upper.  RC36-I handlebars.

Without the skinny wheels, bias ply tires, damper rod forks and shitty shocks.

Yep, I'll second that although I found the VF500F2 with Metzeler ME33 tyres upped in width from standard by 10mm all round and an aftermarket shock worked really well in 1986. But that bike you've put together; hmm just perfect.

Is that fairing from a fire blade?

The 500 was/is an exception.  It's (relatively) light weight allowed it to work pretty damn good.  Even the stock shock, while not great, wasn't completely overwhelmed.
