The almighty Bastage Hurricane249 and I met half way Saturday for a late lunch in Dickson, TN. We had other commitments both that morning (you sly dog) and later that evening, so we didn't get to ride together, but we shot the shiite for a while.

What started out as a quick lunch ended up with us spending a couple hours in Ruby Tuesday's (eating lunch and B.S.ing in the parking lot). I finally mounted up and headed west as Kip turned to the east after lots of talk about our VFR's, VFR.D, Bastages, N.A.D.S., and the two Harley's that parked next to us.

I headed down HWY 50 toward Centerville/Grinder's Switch (home of Minnie Pearl) and then over to HWY 438. Both roads have a couple of nice short sections of twisties and a switchback or two with long stretches of fairly straight roads seperating them.

I made it back home in time to go to my son's baseball game. Unfortunately, they lost. Hopefully we we can have a larger TN Bastaqe Bros. get together that will be as successful as our mini version..

Sorry, no ride pics this time. I forgot to pack the camera. (IMG:http://www.websmileys.com/sm/mad/boese008.gif)

I used to spend my summer vacations at my uncle's farm in Dickson. He was a cool guy to me when I was a kid. He built a small dirt track for me, so I would have the incentive to keep coming back each year. Took me riding horses almost every day, then we would go to the local bar (back then it was a combination of, general store, postoffice,& tavern). At age fourteen, He would let me smoke,& drink beer with him, pretty cool then. I often think about going back to Dickson to see if I remember anything. It used to be just a horse & cow town, but I know that's different now. Oh well....let me know the next time you guys meet, & I'll try to make it.

Dickson has grown quite a bit since you were there. I-40 being nearby made sure that would happen. Hurricane and I just did a last second thing because we both had prior commitments both early that morning and late that evening. Heck, from the time I picked up the phone until I was on the road was probably only twenty minutes! I was on the computer plotting out a short two hour loop to ride by myself when he called, so it quickly evolved into an afternoon mini-meet. We will definately have to schedule a larger meet and get the word out to everybody within a reasonable riding distance.

It's always fun going to lunch with a teacher, they always see their students and have to act nice. It would have been great to have done an all day ride but my Friday night commitment stayed too late Saturday morning and I needed to rest before my Saturday night commitment, sucks getting old. B)

We will definitely need to pull the TN contingent together for a ride. Maybe you won't forget your camera. "Good job dumbass"

That was a biach! Who would have thought I'd run into two students 65 miles from home, at the same restaraunt, and to top it off only one table over! I couldn't cuss, I couldn't gripe, I couldn't stare at waitresses...oh yeah...the few females were ugly until the next shift came in...after we were already outside.
