Caltrans is planning to widen Ortega, from the ranger station east three miles. This section of road is one of the best motorcycling section in Southern California. Too bad we're going to loose it.

Having said that... I've all but given up on riding Ortega for pleasure; it's became too congested to be safely ridden at speed. Even though it's the closest riding canyon for me, I'd rather spend the time riding the freeways of So Cal to get to some on the other great riding spots. :)
