Talk about cherry! This is from the Yahoo VF500 group that I belong to... wheel.gif This is not mine. Someone else on the board is selling it. Mine is almost as cherry as this, but it has 24,000 miles on it and counting. **************************************************************** I was finally able to get some pictures and posted on this web site:
It has been in storage for approximately the last 4 years. I put in new gas and it starts and runs(jumped off car battery-it's battery is dead), but is running rough. My guess is that the carbs are gummed up, but I don't know exactly whats wrong.
It is located in Los Angeles and I would like to sell it locally.

Hiya DEZLPWR... I didn't know a VF500 Yahoo site existed... or I would have posted the Belt-O-Ceptor... just to show them how much I loved that little V4...
Sweet. Reminds me of my first bike - thanks for the stroll down memory lane. Looking at the shot of the instruments, I could almost remember how that little bike sounded pulling 12K rpms.

hehe, BLS, I think you need to buy that bike, get it running like a top, belt it, and then sell it to me! goofy.gif
Since it isn't running well, I suggested that he sell that piece of history for $2000. That is on the high side, but this is an exceptional bike. All kidding aside, it could be one of the nicest, lowest mileage '85 VF500Fs on the planet. If you notice on my original post he was looking for suggestions as to what he should sell it for.
I used to own an 84 VF1000 that looked just like that mint 500!!! Bomb-proof bikes, so $2,000 will most likely get the new owner a reliable ride. Hopefully some day Honda will make another liter V-4, and as long as it does't have VTEC, I will be one of the first in line!

laugh.gif I will be in line right behind you... wheel.gif That's why I like my '97 so much!
We bought one of these brand new from my local Honda for $500. Of course is was motor less, someone bought the bike just for the engine and gave the rolling chassis back. My brother ended up lowering it and dropping in a 125 honda single in it for his kids to ride. Still have it. fing02.gif
seawrench, Feb 17 2006, 03:31 PMThat's cool that you still have the VF500 DEZLPWR! I had a 96 VFR, and I liked it better than the 99 I have now, so I know where you are coming from.
Actually, I just bought it this January... fing02.gif Now I just need BLS, to hook it up with a belt drive like he had on his. idea3.gif
