Hello there, I just purchased an '87 700 (blue & grey) with less than 10k orig. miles. I'm so excited, I've owned honda, bmw, triumph before but this is really awesome.
I was curious to see how many were in production??

Nice bike. Although the blue was the regular production color and the Pearl white was the limited I see way more Pearl Whites than blue. I have never seen one as pristine as that one so I would venture to say you are now in the elite group of mint vintage VFR owners.

Truly a great bike. Seems so light and small compared to my 2000 VFR.

In 1987, Honda decided not to import the 750, leaving the American masses only the VFR700. Refinements were subtle. The shift lever was shorten to lessen the effects of its long throw. Compression and rebound damping were increased, and a new rear shock provided separate valving for lighter compression and firmer rebound, as well as a stiffer spring. This made the bike sweeter over bumps, and increased cornering clearance, although most street riders will never be able to touch the exhaust pipes down. The centerstand disappeared, unfortunately, and the blocky instrument pod replaced the dials and optional analog pointers of 1986. During 1988 and 1989 the VFR simply wasn't imported into the U.S.. On race circuits, the RC30 appeared, and was worshipped.
Thanks for the info - I haven't honestly known anyone that owned this year model/color so I was very pleased when I came across this site. You all are a wealth of knowledge-I love it! I will figure out posting pics eventually. Yours is awesome love the white.
