hello all , i found this fellow and his company thru my BMW forum. after contacting Randy Beckworth, he found a direct replacement for my VFR. get this only $30. i couldn't beat that price anywhere. plus they ship daily so there was no waiting. i would highly recommend contacting Mr Beckworth in Jacksonville Florida

Does he have a GEL cell or equivilent replacement for the VFR?

I called them today. Asked the girl, who answered the phone, if they could hook me up. She laughed, almost histerically, (due to the flood for bike batterys recently), then transfered me to sales. I spoke with a very joviel guy named, "ED", who grilled me about why I wasn't down there for bike week. LOL.
I did NOT get the no. for the stock replacement. I got the no. for the ST 1300, (YTZ 14S). They'er shipping tomorrow. There no is, CTZ 14 S. Yay! $89.85 + shipping. They still have 82 in stock.
Not as cheap, as I had hoped, but still fiberglass, and still cheapest I've found.

I own a 5th gen with likely the stock battery...which battery is recommended? I see folks here ordering what looks like three different batteries. Which one is best? Why?
Is the ST battery much better than the replacement for the VFR?
teleskier, Apr 17 2006, 10:10 AMthe st battery has more cca I believe but it is also not as tall so you have shim it up underneath. Most use a piece of wood under the battery.
The Yuasa YTZ-14s (ST battery) is has the exact same external measurements.
there was a post not long ago regarding the ST battery and the fact that it needed to be shimmed as it was not as tall. that is where my information came from.

I just ordered one for the 5th gen from them. It was $35 plus $9 shipping to MO. I just told them the OEM part #, YTX-12BS. Pretty good deal, it was shipping out today.

Mine is on the way today...also $35 with $8.10 for shipping. He recognized the forum and said this was his price for us on this battery...who knows what the normal price is, but $35 seems reasonable to me.
The guy lives in Florida (USA) and he shipped a battery at home (Qu?bec, Canada). $49.99US for the battery, $25,00US for the shipping and $11.50US at the Canadian Customs. In the end, it's precisely half the price compared to a YUASA. It took around 2 weeks to have it delivered when I ordered it.
Note that I needed to add another set of nots on the battery so that the battery wires are fixed more easily.
The seller is reliable even if his communications by emails are a little bit slow.
I'll keep you informed in the next months if it's a good battery or not.
I overcharged my battery last summer and then it started losing voltage just recently, I ended up getting a new glass matt battery yesterday called a Deka SVR its an AGM type. I got it for $75 at my local dealer - shoot thats a great price for an AGM battery. What brand is this $35 battery?
To clarify, the ST1300 Yuasa battery is shorter than the OE battery in a 5th gen.
That's why it needs a 3/4" spacer underneath it.
But the ST1300 Yuasa battery in a 6th gen slides right in, exact same size, nothing to do but hook it up and go.
The ST1300 Yuasa battery is a good choice for any VFR 1990-present as it has greater CCA and the AGM style has longer self-discharge rate, plus it's more resistant to vibration.
All SSSA equipped 750 VFRs will also need a 3/4" spacer under the ST1300 battery.
